When we were seated, my chair was covered in pieces of crayons, and there were crayons all over the floor. The tablecloth was dirty and had crusty stuff on it. Our waitress showed up immediately as we sat down, took a drink order, and started asking if we were ready to order. Since we had just sat down, we asked for more time, and then didn't see her for another fifteen minutes. We didn't know who to ask for, because she never bothered to tell us her name. We ordered appetizers, which took a half hour. They were good, but by that point I was ready to eat those crayon bits. We were halfway through our appetizers when she brought the salad. My boyfriend ordered the steak (done rare) and lobster, I had stuffed flounder, and my sister had a broiled seafood plate. Nothing that should have taken very long, yet we waited for 45 minutes before the waitress even bothered to come around and say "It'll be out soon." What will, our food? Or Playstation 4? When she finally brought our food, the plates were so hot we had to wait for them to cool off before we could touch them. Hmm, someone forget she had food in the window? Everything was dried out, even the sauces on our food were looking pretty crusted and burnt. It was mediocre food to say the least. It was pretty obvious that we were being ignored, and at one point, a little bald man who I guess was the manager stopped by and said, "Everything great?" My boyfriend responded, "I might go so far to say 'ok', but definitely not great," but the little bald guy was already gone. If that counts for a manager visit, then yes, the manager visited our table. So much for customer satisfaction. When we were through with our meals, none of which we really ate much of, the staff just let them sit in front of us for another half hour. I was so aggravated with the overall customer neglect and lack of concern by the staff, that I just paid the check and left. A terrible evening, unfortunately my sister's last in town and my birthday.
I wholeheartedly understand that prices change; however, when you fail to note on your menu "subject to change" a restaurant should not put a customer into an akward situation. Last night, I took out visiting family members to your restaurant, my treat. One individual ordered the lobster. Later on, the waitress came back out to the table and stated the manager wanted to "advise us the price of the lobster was $10.00 more and did we still wish to order the lobster?" First, the menu did not state "prices subject to change." Secondly, this establishment should not put someone into a position of telling them of a price change without indicating it on the menu. Although we are only speaking of $10.00, I was not impressed with the service based upon this change in pricing, refills and picking up the finished plates in a timely fashion.
Furthermore, instead of putting your waitress into an uncomfortable position of having to tell me, why didn't the manager come out and tell me? I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone based upon this sole factor nor will I ever visit your restaurant again.
Usually, I give additional 25% in gratuties; however, in this case I did not.
