Christmas on the bay
First I'd like to say for the price, the cruise was a complete bargain. With ticket prices at 44.50 per person for a two and a half hour long cruise, that includes a delicious southern meal and bread, salad, and desert. The only things we paid for on board were drinks from the bar and gratuity. Lets start by saying that our experience with the staff was great from the beginning to the end. The reservationist was so helpful and gave details about the boat and the experience that painted a picture for us. The hostess upon boarding gave a warm welcome aboard and wished us happy holidays. The boat was elegantly decorated for Christmas. The tables were dressed in white linens and faux candles. The lights were slightly dimmed and there was christmas house music on. Our server, Erica, greeted us with a warm smile and a run down of times when we would recieve salads and about when the buffet would begin. She also brought us our drinks, which were priced very low for a cruise. Shortly before departing the band began playing. I must disagree with one of the previous reviewers about the band. In my opinion, which is most likely superior to the other reviewer, the band was great! Everything was in check. The guitar player had a very melodic male voice and new his way around his instrument. The drummer and pianist were also equally talented. The Pianist took the role of lead singer most of the time as well as playing the keyboard. She also managed taking care of the baseline. There set lists were so varietal w/ anything from Jimmy Buffet to The rolling stones to Sugarland. Although they had their corny moments the quality of the music was excellent. The food was good, although I do prefer a sit down dinner, the buffet styled meal was a well presented southern cooked meal. The night was so romantic and idyllic. The winter sunset was beautiful and the weather was mild enough to stand outside on the third deck and observe it. Overall this cruise was a perfect night in Panama City Beach, Fl. The cruise encompessed the theme of the town, boating, southern cooking, and live music. I would reccomend this cruise for any age group. It is a forty five dollars well spent!!!
