Worst course I have played in years
I can't warn people loud enough to avoid this course at all costs. The "pro shop" looked like it had just been robbed, and was being attended by kids wearing gym shorts and tee shirts. These same kids who did not care enough to dress like they were working at a golf course are evidently the same ones maintaining it.
The course was just terrible. They were literally mowing the fairways with a bushhog WHILE WE WERE PLAYING IT on a Saturday morning. If you played a hole before it was bushhogged, you were playing in grass up to your knees. If you played a hole after it was bushhogged, it was the equivalent of playing golf in a freshly cut hayfield. I lost so many balls on this course that were in the fairway where I simply gave up in looking through the clumps of grass. Again, this was the fairway, not the distance rough. Since the grass was so high or the clippings so deep, the ground was never able to dry out in the sun. Every shot was a mudball, and it had not rained in days. You would get no roll out, with the grass being so high or the clumps so huge.
If I had to name a couple of positives, it would be that my playing partner and I kept noticing what a great course this could be if the owners simply cared. The palm trees, dunes, ponds and layout were fantastic. The greens were even pretty good. It was the course itself. Had we paid $10 and were told about the conditions, it would be one thing. But we were charged full price and were playing on a Saturday morning on Labor Day Weekend. Save your money and gas (it's a bit of a drive outside of PC) and play a course in town.
