Not what i expected

When "golf course" is in the name of a place you expect just that, a golf course. This course fell somewhat shy of that.
I should first preface my review by saying that we (my brother and I) played the course in July. Those of you familiar with Florida summers can appreciate the heat and humidity that you have to play through. It has also been a dry summer and that may have lead to some of the comments I have on course condition.
First, I will give the pros. It was very cheap to play. The summer rates cannot be beat ($17.00/18 holes with a cart). The staff was friendly and helpful. The carts appeared to be brand new and clean. The course was well layed out. It gave several water challenges.
Next, the cons. There were no fairways to speak of. Many of the tee boxes and greens (not all) were in pretty good shape. Once you were off of those it was a whole other thing. The course had one length of fairway, rough, and fringe. I guess the best way to describe it is short, shaggy weeds. The ground was as hard as concrete leaving no opportunity for a divot with short irons.
All in all, it left us with a disparing day of golf. We made it through 18 holes but we had many discussions along the way about picking up our balls and heading to a better course.
In closing, I would say this course is exactly what it is. A short, multiple 9 holes, inexpensive pasture with some flags in it. The course advertises that it is great for beginners. I do not agree with that. I would never want to learn in those conditions.
