Specializing in hand-cut, prime choice steaks and seafood from worldwide locations, guests of this restaurant can watch their steak and seafood being grilled to perfection over an open flame in an open pit grill. They are open daily for lunch and dinner.
Our last night in town and we decided to try something different. We were seated upstairs, given a broken table, then when our salads arrived they had brown and shriveled lettuce. One salad plate was refused and the waitress returned with the same old lettuce. The main course was hot but the sides were cold. The waitress repeatedly argued with our table and we asked for the manager. It didn't improve the food and I doubt that the service will change. No locals dine here.
I tot i waz lovely but very overpriced. U could get food for cheeper that would taste tast the same . but saying that the food was good. the manager i think is gay and reali annoyin. the whole dea i gettin a picture taken was good also. it was a good night i wil remember for the rest of y life not just for the food but also the night i went broke.

overall rating 8/10
This was a great end to our time in orlando. We had perfect service. my husband is still talking about "the best steak ever"! We will go back next time we are in orlando and have told many friends to try it. It is a little spendy but so worth it.
our waitor was absolutely PERFECT! he really made our -already Awesome dining experience- even BETTER! Ivan was very personable, as well as knowledgable. the food was AMAZING! simply DELICIOUS! and the atmosphere was extremely sophisticated! loved everything this restaurant had to offer from start to finish! as my daughter told Ivan...he deserves extra credit because he is just THAT GOOD...Ivan and Kool's get an A++++ from me and my family! thank you!
To share a meal you must pay an extra $5. The food is EXTREMELY over-priced, not a lot of selection on the menu. We sent back lasagna twice because it was very cold and even the second time they brought it to us, it was cold with no apology from the waitress and no visit from the manager. We read the public reviews on here and even though it was 50/50 we went anway, big mistake. Do not go! If you would like a great steak house, go to Manny's Chop House, they have the best steak you'll ever eat and it is very inexpensive. Looks a little yucky on the outside but the food is amazing.
We saw this place in searching for a place to eat the night before we were returning home. We were seated upstairs where there was one other couple already seated. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, which seemed to take a very long time to return. I had to send my drink back as it was straight vodka and I'd ordered a mixed drink. We had given the waitress our order and waited for about 20 minutes. The waitress came back profusely apologizing, but she had somehow thrown away her slip with our orders. Our first thought was to just go, as we'd already been there for 45 minutes and had only been served an appetizer. But we were hungry, so gave her our order again. Prior to that, another couple had come in, now bringing to total to three tables. They were seated, but no one gave them any attention for probably 30 minutes. Another server came out with salad and bread. I'd ordered a soup to go with my meal. I was given a salad instead. I told the server that I'd ordered a soup, he took the salad back, and returned after about 15 minutes. Our food finally arrived, though by that time, I was so disgusted, I asked for a box. I was in no mood to eat. What had started as a nice evening had turned in to the worst customer service I had ever experienced. I asked for a manager, who never came. We got the check and one from our party went down to find a manager. Honestly, I was not looking for a discount, which we did not get nor was it offered, but I wanted him to know that for the amount of money that we paid (and really no matter how much you pay), we could've gotten better service at McDonalds. The manager finally came out, we explained the situation to him. He starts giving all types of excuses as to why it took so long to get our food. The waitress only had three tables, and none of us were getting service. I do not care what type of food is ordered. What does that have to do with getting something as simple as water? The manager was not trying to listen to our complaints. He basically acted as if it was ok that we waited over an hour for our food to arrive; he just didn't care. I am not one to go running to a higher up when I'm not happy, but felt this time, it was warranted. When I come back to the Orlando area, this is one place I will be skipping.
I had eaten at Kools back in early 90's and remembered it being a good place to eat. My family went to Orlando for New Years and We went to Kools our 1st night there. What a disappointment. Way OVERPRICED. Service was average. Salad was very small. Steaks had no real flavor. Tea was like sugar water. Kids got ribs, they were in my opinion below average. Had way better food next 2 nights at National restuarants and way better prices.
OPINION-- high prices for average food and service.
Had been to KW Kool's about 3 years ago and the experience was great, so we decided to try it again on 12/12/07. It did not dissappoint, our server Jay was polite and attentive and we settled for a $69 meal for two which included soup or salad then a lobster tail each and 16oz New York Strip between us, this was served with potatoes of your choice and vegetables. Lobster was moist and full of flavour and for those who don't like shells it had been removed and placed on top of shell for serving, steak devine.... was so full no room for desert.
Will visit again next time we are in Florida. Would reccomend this as a nice place for a romantic meal for two at a good price.
I am a connoussier of steak and wine. I live near Atlanta and have eaten at every major steak restaurant in the Atlanta area (including Bone's, Chop's, Blue Ridge Grill, Aspen's, etc.); however, I think I still cook a better steak than those restaurants. I try steak restaurants everywhere I go. I always hope to get a steak better than I can make, but it hadn't happened until Key W. Kool's. For over a year, I have had fond memories of the steaks I ate last year (I think a porterhouse and part of a filet). I go to Orlando for my kids, but I dislike Disney. The only reason why I am excited to go is because I know only God can stop me from having another steak from Kool's. The steaks have great aroma, balance, complexity, and depth. I think I have a good palate - I have been a sommelier for 10 years.
If you want a true steak aficionado's steak, forget the wine list, the settings, the wait staff. Those are all fine, but they could have lawn chairs, Charles Shaw White Zin, muddy water, and Aunt Flo serving with a nagging cough that resembles pneumonia. I would still recommmend them. I just hope the next time I go is as memorable as the last.
