African Queen, Key Largo

My wife and I took the evening cruise and we loved it. We wanted the dinner cruise, but it has a two couple minimum so we grabbed a couple of glasses of wine and set out with three other couples. Everyone that wanted to got a chance to stear the boat. Much of the boat, including the tiller is original. While it has a period correct steam engine, it is not the original. The original engine is being rebuilt and should be back soon. A very slow, romantic cruise. Highly Recommended!

Stoped at Key Largo on the way to Key West. Stayed at the Holiday Inn next to the marina and did not realize the African Queen was docked just a walk away til we talked to the desk clerk.What a thrill to see the boat that i had watched in the movies all my life, love the movie.

The African Queen has been maintained in its original condition and is just the way we remembered it in the movie. The vessel still steams and is powered by coal. All the props from the film, including the gin are on board. The friendly guides dressed like Mr. Allnut and Rose were a real treat. If you like, try taking the rudder to steer the craft through the rapids and around the rocks. We had a party of 16 and all fit comfortably for the 4-hour cruise.

The African Queen has been allowed to totally deteriorate. It has not been maintained at all. There is a sign that tours can be booked. I rather doubt that. It does not look seaworthy. A total disappointment.

never in my wildest dreams did i ever expect to see the boat the african queen while on holiday in florida was there 2005 & 2006 and visited the boat both times .its still in very good condition and brought back some fond menories of the film when i saw it as a child.

For anyone who has seen The African Queen -- and, I mean, like, who hasn't? -- this is a real treat. To be so close to the boat gave me chills.
