Superb Snorkel Boat in Key Largo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/12/09
This was our first snorkel trip. Captain Kevin and Divemaster Tim briefed us this morning that the visibility was not that good; because of wind and seas, but that at times can be a good thing, because everything in the sea is limited in seeing us. Just keep scanning slowly and you will see an Ocean of sea creatures that could not see us coming, so we were able to see them first. How true that was. What a blast. We saw so many things that we only saw in the Fish books. My greatest experience was seeing a spotted eagle ray with a wing span of over six feet, glide within 3 feet of where I was snorkeling. What a dream come true, as I have seen this only on cable channels. My wife and 2 children were in awe. Then we saw a hawksbill turtle, a glimps of a green moray eel, and hundreds of other reef fish. The Captain and crew educated everyone of the boat about what the Coral Reef is and what it needs to survive. Most important, "Please do not touch the Corals as they will die." We went on the morning trip and plan next time to go on the afternoon trip as you snorkel to 3 different reefs. I highly recommend snorkeling on the Key's Diver. It was a great experience. The Crew is fabulous, the price is right. One of the lowest ticket prices that we found. Salute to Key's Diver. See you next time. Still in awe.

No novice divers, please!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/08
We purchased the four hour, two spot trip. The crew was non-chalant and at best functional. No one was advised about the strong current which would have been quite helpful to the snorkel folks. There was no patience for first time or inexperienced snorkelers/divers. On second stop many people chose to stay on the boat and the captain remarked that we were no fun. Hardly a way to earn tips. Mostly the two crew members spoke to each other and oomplained about work schedules. This place is for self-sufficient divers/snorklers only. It is not on my recommneded list.

Fabulous!

Keys Divers Snorkle Tour was wonderful! We took the afternoon tour that gives you three stops and guarantees a total of 2 hours in the water, but we were actually in the water almost two and a half hours. Yes, the Christ Statue is crowded and a tourist attraction, but there are beautiful reefs around it and the other two spots we stopped at were incredible! We went to Key Largo blind and just stumbled onto this shop...the people are all great and Reed the dive master is very knowledgable and a great guy. He was terrific with our kids and so helpful and funny too. The next morning we started checking with some of the other shops and found that they were more expensive, and charged extra for rental gear if you need it. We had so much fun that we went out with Keys Divers again the next afternoon. Our second trip with them was even better than the first. We highly recommend this company!!!

terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/02/06
Keys Diver was a nice boat crew was very helpful and professional but we went to the christ statue and for all the publicity it was highly overrated. The statue was covered in fire coral the reef around it was dead hardly any fish. The reef where it is located is what they called an outside one which made it so rough on top of it. Nearly every passenger was sick and didn't make it in the water for more that just a few minutes. We ended up moving to a different site which was okay but far better that the statue. My recommendation is find another boat that doesn't go to the statue and see a better reef or go on keys diver's morning tour when they don't go there.
