Ginger Bay Cafe, Hollywood

I've been hearing about Jazz Sunday at Ginger Bay Cafe on the radio. So I Iooked forward to going there. Well this Sunday I finally made it. I was so disappointed. First of all the place was so dimly lit. The place looked dirty. Not my idea of upscale reataurant and bar. TheI waitress let me know that my friend and I couldn't sit at this tiny table for 4. So we sit at a small table for two against the wall. We set there for over 10 minutes and she never came back to take our order, although she wasn't waiting on anyone else. There was a sign on the table, on one side said a $50 minimiun, the other side said a $100.00 minimium. So we finally left. I would never go back there. I can't thing of anything I liked about the place.

on 5/19/11 ordered food, food was taken to our table looking very poorly arranged on plate and cold,,also i was charged for an additional meal i never ordered, sitting outside at a dirty table and being charged on my bill gratuity of $16.16...i contacted management and they did not refund, nor wanted to correct over charge, this i will never again attend nor will I ever recommend to any one....unskilled management and their main number is out of service try calling it...954.923.1230

The evening at we, a party of 9 went for dinner, they claim their was only one chef. This rsulted in us not being served anything for two hours while we just sat. There was only one other large party and a limited number of others in the entire restaurant. It was the longest wait I have ever had for an appetizer or entre in my entire life and I am currently 46 years old. The only concession that was provided was two over powerful drinks, but nothing off the $245.00 bill we raked up!! WON'T EVER GO BACK!!

Gingerbay has always been a favorite hang out spot for me, I have never indulged in the food, but the music that Cee 4 band provides, is unforgettable, thanks to my cousin Lee Kelly. I will definately be coming back to this spot. With all my family and friends and will spread the word.

I gave this place a poor review because the food never fails to stink. I don't know how they can mess up good Caribbean food so much! My chicken in the salad was dry and tasted like it was spoiled, and the jerk chicken appetizer wings were not flavorful, just hot like they just rubbed too much jerk seasoning on it without regard to cooking in the flavor. They give Caribbean food a different touch by making it appear to be gourmet and I like that, but they just now need to make it actually taste better and cook it better. Also, to much money for such bad food. The band and DJ was pretty good. My friends and I had a nice time dancing well into the night there.

I recently visited Ginger Bay on a Sunday evening. The atmosphere was very comfortable and the Jazz Band was great. I ordered a meal, not realizing that it was spicy (But Delicious) and was greeted with the manager who was very helpful. She was very understanding and had it remade less spicy and returned afterwards to make sure everything went well. Although it was extremely busy, they managed to be very attentive. I will visit again.

I am an unemployed, single mother who wanted to go to Ginger Bay and listen to some reggae tonight. I decided to phone GB to find out if there was a cover charge. The manager of the club answered the phone and I inqured if there was a cover charge. He told me that it was ten dollars. I asked if it was ten all night, or if it is free before a certain time. He said something to the effect of "oh, you're trying to come to my club and not spend any money." I was super offended. Instead of just telling me that it was free before ten, he had to ofend me with such an ignorant comment. I had every intention of paying for my drinks and possibly food. However as I said before, I am unemployed and a single mother. Him questionimg me about my intentions was totally unprofessional and innapropriate. He doesn't know my story! Of course I would try to not have to pay a cover, who wouldnt?! I have been to Ginger Bay over the years several times. I am disgusted at the way the manager handled my inquiry. With the country in an economic crisis as it is, they might try lowering their exorbitant cover to $5 like so many other places. I may still go to GB and not hold the ignorance of the manager against the amazing reggae band!

I wanted an island spot to have me birthday party, somewhere near my home and close for my travelling friends ..Gingerbay Cafe was mentioned.The staff, service,enviroment,music fell nothing short of my expectations, they went above and beyond to make my friends and i have a good time.... i will spread the good news and always come again,,, the food was Great... We loved the ambience. The customer service was excellent. The food was tasteful and filling. The band Irruption was playing along with DJ Don Hot, and we danced and sang along with them all night. The owners were especially nice, and we will definitely be going back soon.

I loved the food,drinks and the service was excellent. The menu has good pricing and when the food is served the cook gives the dish a very appetizing cuisine look. I ordered the Jerk Chicken with rice and peas. It was the best I ever had!
