Fort Pickens National Park

You must see Fort Pickens if your going to Pensacola. This place isn't just for history buffs. Kids will love it because there are lots of rooms to explore. We did a self guided tour and had a blast.

We used to spend almost every summer vacationing there for two weeks.Before the hurricanes,it was a fantastic place to stay.We spent most of our time on the beach.The beach was clean(theRangers made sure of that). The whole place was a great experience.Always things to do for all ages.We have made quite a few friends there because we seemed to run into the same people returning from year to year.It was a true family place to camp and make new friendships. I would love to see it open to R.V.ers again soon.I myself cant waite to be able to get back and experience all Ft. Pickens has to offer.I now have grandchildren that I want to take there to teach about nature,and about preserving the things of beauty that we have, and take for granted. We have been there once since the hurricanes.We went over on a pontoon boat that we rented.It was still beautiful even with all the hurricane damage.I keep praying that no more hurricanes will go that way so the National Park service will be able to get it running again like in the past.

I would and have recommended Ft Pickens to friends and family. I have always loved visiting the Fort over many years. My first trip to Ft Pickens was as a teen, and I loved it so much. I can't get through a summer without visiting the Fort. The experience of the Fort is well worth the time, money and effort. Whether you are seeking to camp, tour through, explore, or enjoy the beautiful beach and scenery, you can't go wrong with a visit to Fort Pickens National Park. Beauty is all around at this place. I can't imagine anyone not having a fun experience there. It's a place for all to enjoy, and once you've been there, another visit will be a must. Since Ivan pushed through the area, I have been waiting to get back to my favorite beach spot at Fort Pickens National Park. See you there!
