The food and service at this restaurant are the WORST I've ever had at any restaurant in Destin. Don't waste your time here -- there are PLENTY of great restaurants in Destin to eat at. I could talk about a lot of different things that we didn't like about our experience, but the worst was my wife's meal. She ordered a filet mignon cooked medium. When they FINALLY brought it out, it was a sirloin cooked well done. We sent it back, and when we asked about it 30 minutes later, we realized that they had forgotten to cook her a new steak! So we waited another 30 minutes and she FINALLY got it (after I had already eaten my Banabas Fosters dessert, which was terrible). They didn't even comp it. Although they said that a manager would come talk with us, he never came over. BOTTOM LINE -- DON'T EAT HERE. LEARN FROM OUR BAD EXPERIENCE.

We didn't exactly have a stellar experience here. Several little things added up to make our visit there unpleasant. First off, my mom ordered steak well done and had to send it back TWICE because it was too red. "Well done" means very little to no pink, and definitely no red. You'd think they'd get it right upon hearing the words "well done," but nope. Not to mention we had to send it back a second time!
I ordered a seafood platter with shrimp and oysters and such, and I asked our waitress if I could *substitute* scallops for the oysters. She said yes, but when we got the check, she had charged us for the scallops. Now, the last time I checked, when a restaurant substitutes something on a plate for another item, no extra charge is supposed to be added. If we were going to be charged, she shouldn't have told us we could substitute. Also, we hardly ever got refills on our drinks, and the waitress brought one dessert when we ordered two.
I understand that the lack of competence of one waitress does not reflect the restaurant as a whole, but the food wasn't that great, either. Definitely not worth the above sixty bucks it took for the two of us to eat. I'll just stick to Joe's!
My boss comes into town and a group of us decided to take him to get fresh seafood. We decide to go to Landry's for a varity of different foods. Big mistake! Not only did we wait for over an hour for our food but it was all overcooked or under cooked when we got it. Never order the crab cakes as an appetizer if you're wanting to share it with a group. It was suggested to us that it would be plenty to share with a group of 5! Wrong! It was barely enough for 1 and the fact that it cost $11 made it even worse. We'd eaten at other locations,so we figured this would be great. I'm sorry but it was totally humiliating...The price of the food and the quality of the food didn't match up... 1 appetizer,1 mixed drink and 5 meals was $178.00 before the tip. Which is more than the food was worth.
There are better restaurants to dine at in Destin, FL. We wandered around the front entrance looking for someone to seat us. Once seated, we had to then ask the bartender if there was a waiter or waitress assigned to our table. The waitress was friendly. The food arrived as ordered but it looked as if it had been sitting on a shelf for a week and then was reheated in an oven after we ordered it. The food was excessively salty: salty shrimp, salty scallops, salty fish. At least the salt probably preserved the food because the seafood certainly was not fresh. I am grateful that the salt likely prevented the growth of mold and bacteria.
This was a very bad expirience for my husband and me, first of all the russian waitress we don't understand, the salad, sooooo simple, the overcooked shrimps, the un- tasty angel hair pasta, the verrryyy small gulf scallops, and very very expencive for such a bad food and terrible terrible service,
The quality of the food was the worst i've ever had fron a landrys resturant. For a family of four I spent $130.00 no one in our party enjoyed their food. example my wife order a large gulf fried shrimp platter the shrimp were breaded shrimp from win dixie and very small and cooked to hard to eat and the food was cold very disapointed. Being from Lousiana I expect a resturant that offers Lousiana quizine to have good quality food not garbage, its ovious that the quality at this landrys has is not up to par with other Landrys I've ate at.
From the time we were seated to the time we left was almost 2 hours. It took 45 minutes from the time we received our salad till we were served our meal. The meal was cold, my wifes' dinner had pasta, green beans and carrots that were dehydrated from being under a heat lamp so long. Her shrimp were soggy and tough, while my kids po boys were cold and my meal was warm at best. The crawfish appetizer was great, but an 84.00 bill for a great appetizer and horrible meal is a little steep.
We went to Landry's and spoke to a manager about renting the banquet room for my rehearsal dinner. We filled out some forms and were told everything was set....only to find out 6 weeks before the wedding that the manager who helped us didn't really book the room and they don't rent the room to large parties during the "on season" anyway. The staff was unapologetic and a manager told me that having our dinner there was an "impossiblity". I will never eat there again.
