read before you do business there

last sunday we rented a boat there and we paid 240.00 for 5 hours we could not leave on time because when we arrived the girl renting boats had gone to Mc Donalds for lunch. we wasted approximently 20 miniuts of our time at $50.00 an hour waiting for her to return with her $4.00 lunch.then they put us on an old (5 or 6 year old boat)21" boat with a 90 horse power motor, when their ad and the poster in the office said 23" deak boat with a 175hp. motor. We drove the boat back from Ft.Myers beach at 4:00 to return at 4:30 but the boat broke doun we tried for 15 miniuts to start the boat, then called them to tell them to please come and get us. They said a mechanic would call us back to tell us how to start the boat. 15 miniuts latter a mechanic called us to tell us how to start the boat. after about ten miniuts of trying, and getting covered with grease from the old motor, we got it started. we returned 45 min. late at no fault of our own, to be charged a $100.00 late fee. Furthermore, the gas guage was 3/4 full when we left, the attendant said it didn't work properly. after driving from mid island marina to the LaniKai on Ft.Myers beach 12 miles away we stopped to refule the boat and it was $67.00 for gas and then, maraculously the gas guage read full. Anyone who would rent a boat from them after reading this, gets what they deserve.I had a boat for 3 years that sank in the hurricane on 8-13-04(charlie) and I just recieved a check two weeks ago for a new boat. Friends called from up north and are comming doun in two weeks, they wanted to rent a boat for a day. After calling around and talking to MidIsland marina we decided to take a boat out for 1/2 a day. We will never rent from them again because we got screwed. obviously a business thad does not value repeat business.
