Sea Mist Three
Providing the best fishing value in South Florida since 1956, this fishing guide company offers an exciting recreation experience for the whole family with all bait and tackle provided; all you need to bring is your food and drink.
I went out on the Sea Mist III with my wife and kids and we had a blast. The crew was helpful and nice. After reading the below reviews we decided not to join the fish pool. From what I observed, the lucky winner of the fish pool that trip was on vacation from Minnesota, not a friend of the crew. Also, at the end of the trip when it was time to go back to the home port, the crew announced they would be cleaning with bleach and to please stay on the other side of the boat, so we did. All in all it was a fun family day and for everything it included, the price was very fair. We will be back.
PEOPLE THAT DON`T LIKE THE SEAMIST ARE PEOPLE THAT DON`T CATCH FISH! I DON`T ALWAYS CATCH FISH BUT THAT1S WHY THE DON`T CALL IN CATCHING INSTEAD OF FISHING. IF YOU GO ALOT YOU WILL GET TO KNOW THE CREW AND THEY WILL TREAT YOU RIGHT. LAST YEAR I CAUGHT A 27 LB WAHOO AND DIDN`T WIN THE POOL. BUT FLOYD H. AND I SURE DID EAT IT!
I agree with the post below. They try to get a pool going to see who catches the "biggest fish" and their friends always win. They also did not tell us how many people were in the fish pool so we did not know what the winnings were. They packed the boat to the max! My son and wife took me out there for Father's Day last year. People left hooks lying around everywhere and my wife got snagged by a hook that was randomly lying around that some guy stuck on the vinyl seat and forgot it was there. His comment was 'nothing to worry about as it was a new clean hook.' It was so crowded that there was no room to move and our lines got tangled to the point we couldn't enjoy the fishing. And the bleach water, what a mess! I wouldn't waste my time or money.
They try to bait you into a fish pool that their friends always win. they also tell less experienced fishermen that the fish they catch are a different species, no good to eat, yet they throw them in their cooler to keep. They say it is for bait. They took my son's lesser amberjack and told him it was a banded rudderfish even when he insisted it wasn't. Then they sell everyone's bonita that they say is no good to a bunch of people waiting for them when they pull in. They also pocket 1/3 of the fish pool and never tell you how many people are in it. They drive too far and give you little fishing time so the mates wont have to do much except smoke cigarettes, even when it says no smoking. Overpack the boat and then spray water with bleach all over before you even get off the boat, ruined my son's pants. If you want to get burned by a crew, this is your best place for that to happen. no integrity and very dishonest. never again, burned 2 times by these amateurs!!
Have fished on this boat for the last 4 years two to three times each year. The Crew is always helpful and eager to assist in any way that they can. Capt Burt and Charlie make every effort to get you on fish. Do not always catch a lot of fish (can't control the fish), but the effort is there. The cost is very reasonable. They clean the fish for tips and you can take your trip ticket stub to the Hurricane Alley Restaurant just up the street and they will cook the fish for you free of charge (great deal!!). Have never been disappointed with the service that they provide. Look forward to being back there again in May.
Crew was helpful and nice. There were a lot of tangles because the boat was crowded and a lot of bonitos were being caught but the crew did their best to keep things running smoothly. Got some really cool pictures of huge bull sharks coming after the bonitos. Had a good time and will definitely return.
I ENJOYED FISHING WITH THE PEOPLE WHO PIONEERED DRIFT FISHING. CAPT GENE WAS FAST AND KNOWLEDAGLE. MY KIDS REALLY ENJOYED THEIR TRIP AND I LOVED HAVING SOMEONE TO BAIT OUR HOOKS AND ASSIST WITH CATCHING OUR FISH.
The Sea Mist was a horrible experience for us, The boat is filthy. The mates are dirty. All they care about is catching fish for themselves to sell at the pier after the trip. They are not helpful at all. I have also fished on the Lady K out of Lantana and that was a spotless boat and the mates were very attentive and clean.
The crew of the seamist was very helpfull and kind to me and my 3 kids. We all caught a bunch of fish ,mutton snappers and lots of kingfish and yellowtail. I would advise anyone from age 5 to 95 give it a try.
