Isaiah 29:13
Isaiah 29:13...New International Version (NIV)
The Lord says:
“These people come near to me with their mouth
and honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
Their worship of me
is based on merely human rules they have been taught.
I attended this church for a few weeks......I felt awful, like a complete extranger to be honest. Not sure if its due to my color skin. Tried to join one of the community groups but just found a buch of religiosity and hypocracy, that of course I confronted face to face. Started going out with a guy I met at the group thinking he was my brother but turned out he was looking for something else, go figure!
This is the typical church full of self-righteousnes and self-suficience, like saying, Im accepted by God, because Im a presby-something......totally wrong!
The leader of the group was a guy, and Elder from this congregation, he was a nice person, but more interested in being in nice suits, first seats at church and all the "pompa", instead of being a servant....
Thats why it says:
“Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries[a] wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.
