Check out the new GALAXY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/06/07
I have been a customer of Galaxy Roller Rink since 1996 when it opened. There has never been a session that I attended in which I didn't have an awesome time. The building has always been a little run down, but have you been there recently? The outside of the building still looks as it did back in 1955 when it was built, but the inside has been completely redone. The skating floor has been refinished, the walls have been painted, the bathrooms have been redone, new carpet, and new tile. It looks amazing! When you go to Galaxy Roller Rink be prepared to have a great time in a clean and neat environment. They always have a DJ playing great music. Different sessions have different types of music, giving everyone a chance to enjoy their favorite music while skating. Their birthday party packages are a great value, starting at $100.00 for ten children, including admission, skates, cake, all the settings, soda, gift, and they let you have the reserved area for the whole time you are there, no time limit like other places. Galaxy Roller Rink the best place in the area for family entertainment!

i go every friday
By First L, 08/04/06
I love the Galaxy Roller Rink!! It is a good place to hang out with your friends or have birthday paries. My friends and I always go every Friday and we all love it. The staff is nice and they play great new music along with some older music which makes it more fun. Everyone that goes there always has a good time. It is well worth the time and money. I promise you that if you go you will have a great time and you will want to go back!!

Great Birthday Party Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/22/06
My daughter had her birthday party at Galaxy Roller Rink and the experience overall was a great one. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the kids seemed to have a lot of fun. The DJ took requests and he played games with the kids that kept the skating fun. I thought the experience overall was well worth the money spent and I would recommend it to others. Yeah, the place is a little run down but I wouldn't let that stop me from going back again!!!

Love it!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/07/06
Our group of 9 adults and 7 kids have been going to the rink for about 3 months now and we LOVE IT! We go every Friday night. The kids never want to leave. The adults are having a great time re-living the 80's! Yes, the place could use some paint and a little TLC... But, take it from me we have recently tried Wallinford and Middletown and they do not compare to Galaxy! Last week the owner (great guy) came up to us and introduced himself. He said that he took over the rind 2 years ago and he is doing renovations as fast as he can. I woul definately recomend this expierence!!

Taking the time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/19/06
Yes, painting is a pain, but it's the easiest way to spruce up an otherwise run down, dirty environment. The kids deserve it and the owners must surely have the money to do what's right. Fork out a few thousand, hire some painters for the bathrooms, entire rink walls and all railings. Offer air conditioning in the summer, it reaks of sweat & dirt and makes skating miserable. New lighting is also needed. Owners are nice, but take some pride in your investment. You are in the public's eye - have enough respect for this building which holds so many memories over the past 30+ yrs, please.

School Activity
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/06
When the 6th graders from my school went to Galaxy Roller Rink I was amazed. I had never rollerbladed before and when my best buds taught me how and when I went off on my own I had a great time. When I left I felt like I couldn't leave. So that's why I'm thinking about having my b-day party there. Inviting ten kids. At my school the 6th graders are divide into 2 teams Blue and Mango so I would invite 5 bluegers and 5 mangers(this is what my friend Marco calls them)

Inside perspective
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/12/06
I have been skating in the club at the galaxy roller rink for about 9 years and working there for 2. This is a home away from home for me, and other skaters as well. The building may need some work but the atmosphere is something you can't beat! The owners are fair and understanding people and the exerinces it has offered are ones I will carry throughout my life.

Poor Condition
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/28/05
Although the operator has definately cleaned-up clientele from what it was in the 80's and early 90's, the rink itself is disgusting. Not only is it extremely run-down and in need of major repair, but I'm surprised the Groton Health Dept. hasn't closed it down for cleanliness. The skating floor has been damaged to a point beyond repair so that a whole new floor will need to be installed soon or that will become a safety issue. On the good side, the rink runs a good party and I believe it is safe place for the kids (although if they get injured you may want to think about a tetanus shot).

AMAZING
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/05
i have gone to the galexy roller rink every saturday for 3 1/2 monthes and i have got great skating skills now. the workers are really cool. theres great music and the late skate is the best from 7:30pm to 1:00am its great! you can meet cool people there and make new friends. the bathrooms could use a little work but u dont go to skae in the bathrooms any ways. i think they should have lateskate more often cuz they would make a TON of money. all in all its great!
