Middlebrook 2 review
By Mat, 6/17/12
My brother and I had a wonderful time fishing and the crew was fantastic. It was well worth it. However... We went there for a bachelor party for a friend. An elderly woman who said she was the Captain's wife was incredibly rude and unprofessional. One of the party members had a beer funnel, more of a novelty for this trip. She saw this and blew a gasket. The individual who had the funnel said ok and proceeded to bring it back. She then stormed up to my brother and I who had nothing to do with the funnel and ranted and raved about having a raging wild "college" party on the boat, no one has yelled at me like this for doing absoluty nothing wrong since I was in the a Marines. Her insulting nasty I our face 3 minute was a real turn off, everything else was great, all of the crew members were excellent and I had a wonderful time.

Love The Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/27/11
The only negitive thing I have to say about this place is that it closes....Other than that I Love it. Friday after work We hurry down to Captains Cove for the live music, then we get some excellent Fish and Chips. They make the best around. The Scenery is beauitful, the crowd is nice, it is a friendly place to relax and it is also romantic, and it is one place that lets you forget your worries and relax. I have been waiting for them to open to enjoy the view again. Thanks for having such a beauitful place to go. (and clean)

I'd go back in a minute.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/25/09
I just got back from Captain's Cove and I thought that it was great. There was absolutely no traffic on the way in, after I got off of I95 of course. I wondered around the boat yard, taking pictures, unmolested for an hour and then had a great plate of fresh perfectly prepared mussels at a reasonable price at the marina restaurant, which was uncrowded but friendly. I always want more but this was not the all you can eat buffet. I didn't like the plastic cup for a draft beer $4.00 but that same cup is $9.00 at a Jets game so you decide and they take credit cards and I saw an ATM. Nice place to visit and just hang out.

The Middlebank II Charter Fishing was the BOMB!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/08
Our experience on the Middlebank II last week was one of our very best. In all my years of charter fishing this was the cleanest and comfortable experience I've ever had. The Captain actually cared if we caught fish. The mates were very helpful but not over baring. However, when I needed assistance they were there in a flash. They made sure their rentals & gear was top notch. A great experience.Telling everyone I know.

Horrible food
By EmilyK, 7/10/08
We ate there this past weekend. The food was absolutely awful. The whole belly clams which cost a whopping $19.99 were pure garbage and from my perspective were not whole belly clams. The fries were cold and rubbery and the coleslaw was definitely scooped out of a tub. The fish and chips was not much better, fish was very greasy and fishy tasing. We ate little and threw away a lot. Fortunately we had a Restaurant.com gift certificate that only cost $3 and took $25 off of the bill. If you have to eat there get a hot dog. We would never eat there again. There was live music on the boardwalk which was nice. People were having fun; aim to go at high tide as the smell of low tide is not very pleasant.

Unflavorful Seafood
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/08
The whole belly clams are rubbery and tasteless. I've had better tasting strips. I can only speculate they come in already breaded and frozen. The lobster roll had some flavor. I should had had a burger, instead. And yes, it was very expensive considering the quality. They charge market fresh prices for poor quality seafood. Sitting by the harbor is pleasant. There are gulls, ducks and two swans. The museum was closed, on the Saturday before Father's Day!

Very Nice and Relaxing Looking out on the Dock
By Jennifer, 8/4/07
They had this event going on called the Swim the Sound 2007 and so it was a bit crowded. I admit I did not eat there. I went there after visiting the Beardsley Zoo and after walking around the Zoo in the hot 90 degree weather it was a very nice area to sit at the pier, with a $2.00 cup of ice cream in your hand, and enjoying the sweet smell of the ocean breeze as it cools you down. I'd say if you want to check them out they have a website and it tells you the events going on so you can plan accordingly. It was quite beautiful.

Fun at the Seaport
By chris, 7/8/06
This place is a hidden gem, it has all kinds of quaint little stores, a pretty decent seafood shack "world famous fish and chips", a bunch of boats docked to check out, a cute as can be little house on a pontoon for the ducks, fishing excursions, boating excursions, live music, and then there's beautiful view of the water. and to think, this is right in fairfield county.

Seafood old & tuff with Cardboard fries
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/2/05
Overall, a loud, smelly & expensive experience.. To be fair, maybe the waitstaff was having a cold & miserable day, but the prices were of exceedingly ripoff proportions. And the food portions were minimal.. JW
