Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site, La Junta

A bit off the beaten path, once you get there, it is an enjoyable trip. From the moment you enter the gates, met there by rangers dressed in period costume, to the relaxed atmosphere, you can seemingly imagine yourself strolling through that period of time. The attention to detail, from the 15 minute video, to the self guided tour (or you can go with the guided tour), is well worth the time out of your schedule. There is nothing negative to say about this attraction. Well conceived and carried out, it is a little piece of history each of us should take the time to experience. A must see if you are in the area!!
