Family fun or romantic walk

I think you guys are looking at it wrong, as someone who has walked around the river many many hours with my two little girls I love it! It is supposed to be a family thing and yes it is true there aren't tons of restuarants but there are venders and small shops with snacks who are all great during the summer days. But it is best for picnics!! It is really a summer spot, they have boat rides and the two person paddle boat things. The events are also more family oriented until 9 or so at night, I do not know what event you went to but my husband has worked security and it can get wild, they do not normally end until 11 or 12. I also think it is a very cute romantic walk just for two when the sun is going down and the familys are leaving and such. Going to see it is totally free so what is the harm in trying??
This is basically a cement clover leaf shaped cement canal for a boat(s) to float around surrounded by wide cement sidewalks. There are places for live music & vendors to set up if it's during a festival time. There are a couple small waterfall areas. It's a nice place to take a walk or sit & eat a lunch, etc but I would NOT call it a tourist attraction.
There was a festival weekend going on, we went down at 10:45 pm on a Saturday night & EVERYONE was gone. So it's deffinately NOT a late night type gathering. There are many sculptures in the down town area. Two are large waterfall type sculptures, if you just want to walk around the down town area & see what is there it's a nice place. If you are looking for fun & excitment, it's NOT that type of area.
In the midst of downtown Pueblo, just slightly off the main thouroughway, is what is destined to be a major draw for Pueblo. It appears to be in it's early developmental stages, but if it continues to grow, in the direction it appears to be going, could become a major draw to visitors, and locals alike. The walk is very leisurely and not a challenge to anyones ability. For a relaxed evening, after dinner, or to just get out a stretch, it is well worth the effort.
