1 reviews for Leadville, Colorado and Southern Railway, The
A lot of fun for the family
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/06
This was a nice way to experience the Leadville area. Riding the rails on the "Highline to Leadville" was a very enjoyable experience. The day turned out fabulous after several previous days of rain and cloudiness. I think the high temp for the day was 68 degrees, partly cloudy. The folks running the railroad and working was VERY nice and friendly. The 15 minute stop at the water tower on the way back to let you walk around, tour the caboose and engine, and just take in the sites was a very nice touch. Good value and lots of fun for the family. Also, the guide book for about $10 was worth reading before, during, and after the train ride. It added a lot to make the train ride more "educational" and was well worth the money.
