Swetsville Zoo, Fort Collins

This was such unique place with its creative metal sculptures. It was very peaceful and uncrowded (early May). We enjoyed exploring the numerous and humorous sculptures. And it was free!.

We made it to Swetsville Zoo this summer and loved it! So much creativity. It is amazing what one man can do with a bunch of scrap metal. This is a fun place for all ages!!

This is the most amazing non-traditional zoo I have EVER seen! I could have spent so much more time there examining the craftmanship put into each and every one of the exhibits! I heard they would be closing this down soon and I am hoping they don't. I would love to be able to come back in a couple years and see the additions made to the zoo. If anyone has any amount of power to keep this place open please do what you can this place is amazing!!! Thanks to the family that does this, we are on a family vacation and looking for cheap things to do with the kids. This hit top notch on our trip! If you have the chance to go here please take the time to do so! You won't regret it!!

This is an outstanding place to visit! A little off the wall; the "zoo" is alive with characters than have more personality than any photo can give justice. We will definately be back, next time with our grand kids!

i live here. lol. im 14 and my dad and grandpa made all of these iron works out of old car, train, parts and old scraps of metal. its a very fun place to go with children and older people too. but hurry. i found out in 2 years the town of timnath is taking our farm over and tearing it downn. so hurry while you can. =]]

I came in into fort collins for a hockey tournament at epic. We checked in the comfort inn motel and asked the front desk agent and what things there are to do in fort collins. We suggestes going to the swetsville zoo. This was a great choice. The whole family loved the metal sculputures. . It was easy to find it took only 5 minutes from the comfort inn hotel. Great and fun place to check out. The kids loved ringing the metal bells.

We liked that it was free! We LOVED all of the exhibits! WOW! Even my teens liked it. Everyone agreed that if we are in the area again we want to stop and see what is new! It is so nice to be able to enjoy an outing with the family and not worry about offensive materials! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!

This is a great place to go with your family! I would recommend it to anyone. It is very artsy and fun. It felt as if you stepped into another world, one where you can see dinosaurs, robots, and other metal marvels!

The sheer number of pieces to look at is what I found most astonishing. How did one man build all this? The zoo is getting a little bit run down, not that I cast any blame - a $2 donation (which fee is optional) it is hardly enough to maintain such a large exhibit. I'd advise dropping in a bit extra. The works of art are rusty, but really quite ingenious. It's fun to look and exclaim, "Hey, that was a propane tank!" or "Those are rocker arms!"

The creativity of a museum, the setting of a zoo - minus the smell! My family has enjoyed this place for the past 8 years. Go when it isn't storming..... lightening & this amount of metal do NOT agree. :) All of this created by a humble, quiet, talented & giving man that just wanted to bring joy to others.
