Visited while here for hockey tournament
By jonas25, 12/19/09
I came in into fort collins for a hockey tournament at epic. We checked in the comfort inn motel and asked the front desk agent and what things there are to do in fort collins. We suggestes going to the swetsville zoo. This was a great choice. The whole family loved the metal sculputures. . It was easy to find it took only 5 minutes from the comfort inn hotel. Great and fun place to check out. The kids loved ringing the metal bells.

Great family fun adventure!
By TerriD, 09/12/08
We liked that it was free! We LOVED all of the exhibits! WOW! Even my teens liked it. Everyone agreed that if we are in the area again we want to stop and see what is new! It is so nice to be able to enjoy an outing with the family and not worry about offensive materials! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!

Wow!
By Erika, 08/03/08
This is a great place to go with your family! I would recommend it to anyone. It is very artsy and fun. It felt as if you stepped into another world, one where you can see dinosaurs, robots, and other metal marvels!

Very interesting art
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/08
The sheer number of pieces to look at is what I found most astonishing. How did one man build all this? The zoo is getting a little bit run down, not that I cast any blame - a $2 donation (which fee is optional) it is hardly enough to maintain such a large exhibit. I'd advise dropping in a bit extra. The works of art are rusty, but really quite ingenious. It's fun to look and exclaim, "Hey, that was a propane tank!" or "Those are rocker arms!"

The most generous man in America!
By Allamemo, 02/09/08
The creativity of a museum, the setting of a zoo - minus the smell! My family has enjoyed this place for the past 8 years. Go when it isn't storming..... lightening & this amount of metal do NOT agree. :) All of this created by a humble, quiet, talented & giving man that just wanted to bring joy to others. It is 'free' - but, please leave a donation as a thank you for his generous spirit!

Fun for everyone!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/07
Full of welded art and really creative and also free! Fun for all ages to do late in the day. This is a great place to take fun photos of the family. Do the walk slowly as there are great details you will miss if you rush! Loved it! Afterwards, head West on Harmony toward the Mountains to eat at a number of great restaurants! Ft. Collins has it all!

Come one come all
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/22/06
The Swetsville Zoo will captivate the young and the old. The young will enjoy the variety, size and character of each piece. The middle will enjoy the added humor that a more experienced mind can wrap around. The older will recognize many of the parts and pieces that are used to make a whole new creation. The only guide is the laminated paper at the trails entrance so you can take your time and enjoy. The entry price is also resonable...free will donations. But you'll want to help out when you see what a joy the artist must have in making these things for you to enjoy! Cas from Fort Collins

See it before it's gone!
By Jeff, 08/15/06
Wonderful collection of sculptures with a great sense of humor throughout. My favorites include the fisherman, two-headed dragon, and 'ant picnic.' With a super wal-mart currently under construction across the street, Swetsville may soon be replaced by yet another Home Depot or similar big box. Catch this gem before it's razed!
