Well first off I have been here before, and never had any issues... We took our two young boys on the 19th, of which is my oldest sons birthday. We played putt putt and on the 16th hole my youngest, 2yr old boy was placing his ball in the "gutter area" so it could continue down to the second half of the hole, and OUCH he was stung three time by wasps.
We had to cut the game short and calm my son down, and proceeded to head back to the building to see how he would do. I was able to find a manager and warn him of the current danger. They had already posted signs of wasps on the course, so we were aware of the issue but it was unclear where the wasps were. I explained to the manager the area of concern and he seemed very slow to react. He did offer us some ice at first as my sons lip started to swell, but as we continued to talk he reached out and offered us a frozen treat. I am writing this as I was less than pleased with his actions to resolve the issue and his lack of concern for our well being and most of all the other players on the course. We did try and calm my son down but as minutes went by it was clear his condition has worsened. We headed to the doctor and had to get my son taken care of, and all is fine now. I'm concerned as the manager on duty didn't seems to care as he knew of the issue. I understand they had signs warning people, but that also shows there lack of effort to rid the course of the wasps, and they acknowledge there was a problem to begin with. My biggest concern is for other people and there children as not everyone has the same reaction to wasps, and it could be very serious to someone else. Please be aware of this and be carful!!! There is a serious lack of responsibility on Fort Funs part in this situation... Proceed with caution!
Fort Fun is an awesome place to take your kids to. It has everything from Go-Karts to a huge arcade. It even has something for the parents also. It has a snack bar that parents can hangout at and socialize.
I think the description of the Auntie Stones Resturant on the Chamber web site is very misleading. I could not find another place to rate this resturant. The description states:
Enjoy the historic atmosphere of Fort Collins' pioneer past. This family restaurant honors early settler, entrepreneur, and restaurateur, Auntie Stone. Reasonable prices. Good food. Quick service. Lunch and dinner. Patio and indoor dining. Indoor arcade games for the kids. Birthday parties. Sun-Thur: 11am-8pm, Fri-Sat: 11am-10pm
It should be more like this:
Enjoy the atmosphere of Fort Collins' premier amusement park. This family restaurant honors early settler, entrepreneur, and restaurateur, Auntie Stone (in name only) with some old barn boards on the wall and some old things hanging on the wall.. Authentic as plastic can be. Reasonable prices. Fast food menu. Quick service. Lunch and dinner. Patio and indoor dining. Indoor arcade games & outdoor minature golf and go-cart, part of Fort Fun, for the kids. Birthday parties. Sun-Thur: 11am-8pm, Fri-Sat: 11am-10pm
We were mis-lead into thinging rhis might be a different and neat local place to eat. Guess not.
