went with my brother and his family on the full day trip, my brother and i were both a bit apprehensive (long ride in a van with a bunch of people you dont know, etc) but let me tell you it was one of the best things I have done...will definitely go back for the shorter trip with more rapids...our guide Danni was totally awesome and Rick who drove our van gave us great information and dining tips as well...there are other companies in the area that do these trips, I would highly reccomend using Rapid Transit
Great experience... We signed up for the shorter trip. It was nice to have transportation to and from the river. Our driver was really nice. Our guide Leo was AMAZING. Made the trip so much fun while making sure we stayed safe... Our raft was THE raft to be on. Can't wait to go back and try the full day trip. Will definately book with Rapid Transit again.
Our group booked and paid for our rafting trip six weeks in advance only to have rapid transit cancel our trip two days before it was scheduled. They had even sent a email confirmation five days prior. We live over 700 miles from Estes Park and were actually within 150 miles of Estes Park when we received the email to contact them to reschedule. Being so short of notice we were not able to book with a different rafting company because they were all full. Rapid Transit offered no appology nor did they offer any type of compensation. Our rafting trip was completely ruined because of Rapid Transit!!
I would strongly advise not to use this company!! A group of four booked and paid 5 weeks in advance---Rapid Transit's advice-- and received confirmation one week prior to our scheduled rafting trip. We drove over 700 miles for our rafting trip. Rapid Transit called one and a half days before our scheduled trip--after we were in Colorado-- and told us they would have to cancel our rafting trip because they had no other reservations for that day. The day before our now canceled reservation had been scheduled we paid their office a visit asking for a trip the next day--the day of our canceled reservation--and were told they had just booked a large group and there was no more room for that day!! After telling them we were the ones they canceled for for "the large group" they just sat there and smiled--no apology, nothing! I urge rafters not to put your white water rafting vacation in Rapid Transit hands--they are unreliable!!
We loved the rafting trips we took while on vacation in Estes Park. Yes I said tripS! We had booked the all day trip on the Colorado before we arrived and even though you have to get up early and drive 2 1/2 hours to get to the water it is all well worth it. The drive was beautiful up Trail Ridge Road which took you to the top of the mountains above the treelines. We had Derek as our guide and he was just great!!!! Very funny, entertaining and a just all around great guy! We went on Sunday and the their were 5 boats in our trip with around 20-25 people total. We had a few good rapids which were fun but we got to know our guide and the couple our family of 4 was put in a raft with. We had water fights with the other boats, did the rodeo and also saw real dinosaur tracks. They provided a great sandwich lunch which was included in the price of the trip. We loved the 1st trip so much we booked another trip (the shorter, more rapids trip) later in the week. We loved the excitement of this trip also but it was quite short. We had a really nice guide also but not really enough time to get to know anyone on this trip. We enjoyed both trips and felt like the money was well spent but the longer trip was definetly our favorite. Thanks - we will definetly tell everyone how great you guys are!!
Great fun...will definitely go rafting again with RTR. Great group of people and a greate guide on our raft. Highly recommended... We went in June and the river was flowing fast. They also took pictures of us on the raft going down the river. We were unaware of this and purchase the pictures at their office later...lets just say great memories for life..
We had a great experience for our first time rafting. I've done canoe trips-but this was a BLAST.
We had a great guide, very helpful and funny!! We did have fun getting the other boats wet and having water fights. You'll definately get soaked.
You are required to paddle, and you will work hard, but it's so fun and the scenery is just outstanding.
We had a chance to get out of our boat and "swim" downstream a bit..that was great! You didn't have to do that if you didn't want to. I think this is a must do if you are adventurous and like to try new, exciting things!!
Great photos are taken of you while your rafting, so don't bring your camera!
This is the only company that will take you to the river so you don't have to try to figure out where to go. We went in June when the water was moving really good. We had so much fun we called them and took their full day trip too. This isn't like what you see in the movies - anyone can do it.
Had a great time on the half day trip. First time for our kids and they had a blast. If you want to be lazy on the river, this isn't for you! Sabotage water fights with the other boats and trying to navigate down the river kept us busy! The water was a bit low, would recommend going in June or early July for best water, but the guides made sure we had a great time. You will get wet!
First time white water rafting. I know a lot depends on the weather, river level, the group in your raft, and your guide, but we had a blast. Steve, a special ed teacher during the non-summer, had no problems with our group (that's good :-). The weather was perfect, sunny and warm. The river was low so Steve couldn't fit us down certain paths, but we had a great time bouncing off of rocks and spinning around in river whirl pools. It was mostly Class 2 rapids. We may have seen a momentary Class 3. We had a big group (10 or better) so we got a discount. The afternoon cost $44 a head, but it really was fun. A must do.
