My hotel, Great Divide Lodge, setup my 90 minute Hot Stone Therapy with Blue Sage Spa. The customer service at the spa was bad and unfriendly.
No slippers, no changing room, and had to wear my snow boots to walk to the restroom. During the massage I could hear one lady, outside my room, talking loudly on her phone. All of which caused me to have a difficult time trying to relax and enjoy my massage.
When checking out, the lady at the front desk was pushy and demanding for gratuity. I am European and not used to having to give everyone a tip for doing their job, especially when I paid $160 for the massage. She was very persistent and practically forced me to leave some sort of tip.
This experience made me very uncomfortable and I do not recommend them to anyone. The Great Divide Lodge needs to reconsider the establishments they recommend to their guests. Shame on them too!!!
I went to the Blue Sage Spa while in Breckenridge for a wedding. I asked for a French manicure, but was told that I would have add to request that when I called in, and that they didn't have time for it. I've never heard of a French manicure taking 15 minutes longer.
I settled for the standard manicure, but even that felt rushed. My manicurist kept looking at the clock on the wall behind me, and she didn't do a very good job. My cuticles were still a mess, my polish was sloppy, and she even smudged some of my polish to show me how "dry" my nails were. Don't be taken in by the nice website...shop around!
My family and I spend our spring break in Breckenridge every year and I always treat myself to a spa day. I have been to several other spas in Breckenridge but none match up to my exprience at Blue Sage. I was warmly welcomed by the staff and my therapists were knowledgable and professional. The prices are a little bit steeper than some of the others in town, but the quality and service were well worth it!
I had the best massage I have EVER had. The staff was super friendly and I got a full 90 minute deep tissue massage. My facialist was very knowledgable and passionate about her work as well. I look foward to my next visit to the Blue Sage Spa.
Very stuffy atmosphere, not friendly, just in it for the cash. Prices are high and service does not justify it. Rooms are small and uncomfortable. Massages are booked on the hour, meaning you pay for one hour but are lucky to get 50 minutes.
I too have been to many spas in my day. My recent visit to Blue Sage Spa was by far the worst. My husband and I scheduled an appointment for a couples massage but when we showed up they said we were not scheduled. The manager was sincerely apologetic and promised to make it up to us. We rescheduled for the next day and when we showed up the owner, Amy, claimed that the problem was that I had called and canceled the appointment. When I told her that I had not called, she argued that I did, said that I was lying and that I was lucky that she didn't charge me for the cancellation.
The massage was fine but their customer service is awful. Most of their business is from tourists so they apparently don't care much about retaining clients. Breckenridge has MANY great spas, this is not one of them. Go somewhere else!!
Some may call me spoiled when they hear about the numerous spa packages I've experienced during my short lifetime, and that's ok. But let me tell you - the Blue Sage Spa blows any spa right out of the water! My friend and I left the kids with the husbands and treated ourselves to the "Afternoon Delight." This title doesn't even begin to explain what a great experience this spa package is. The staff at the BSS were kind, not pretentious, and extremely knowledgeable. The atmosphere was cozy, and the view of the mountains from the massage room was spectacular. Most importantly, the services themselves were incredible! I had the tangerine body scrub, which entails laying on a hydrotub while the therapist brushes your skin with a soft brush to wipe away the dead skin cells. She then applies a tangerine scrub, closes the hydrotub so that only your head is exposed, and steams you for 20 minutes while you get a neck and scalp massage. Once the steaming is done, you are then showered with warm water from within the hydrotub, rinising away all of the scrub. The massage was hands-down the best massage I've ever had (and I've had a lot!) - getting at hip muscles, neck and throat muscles...places therapists typically don't bother with massaging. Move on to the facial where it's customized to your skin; mine happened to be with chocolate...yes, good enough to eat! In addition to all of those services, I also added on a pedicure, which included a paraffin treatment. Totally relaxing, fume free since there is only one chair in the area for this service, and a truly wonderful experience.
I would highly recommend anyone who loves to be pampered and receive high-quality spa treatments to visit this spa the next time in the Breckenridge area. You can bet I'll be back there on our next visit!
