I've visited the Napa Valley several times and definitely have a list of favorite wineries to visit. However, far above and beyond any wine tasting experience I've had was at Duckhorn Vineyards in St. Helena.
At Duckhorn one does not simply "belly-up- to-the-bar". We were sat down at our own table and presented a flight of five wines in individual reidel glasses. A staff member came to our table and as he poured each wine he explained what he was pouring, and what process went into that particular wine. We found the staff very engaging: we approached as if we were long time friend of the winery. My freind's questions were answered in an inforative yet unpretensious way. Best of all the wines were fabulous! This tasting room is a must visit for anyone going to the Napa Valley.
