Sunce Winery, Santa Rosa

Their main tasting room is good, but the REAL awesomeness comes from the barrel tasting room. Their reds in the barrel were all amazing. Best Syrah I have tasted (will be the 2007 Syrah when bottled), and their Merlot Port was amazing (and I dont even like Port). I wanted to buy multiple bottles ofeach red in there (Tres Amois was good, as was the Pinot Noir, Malbec, and many others). If you are anywhere near Sunce- GO! And try to do the barrel tasting!

My wife and I travel annually to Sonoma County Wine country. We found Sunce on our second trip out there. We love the different variatals that the wine maker and owner, Fran, puts out. His style of winemaking has made the Sunce wines some our favorites. I am particularly fond of the Sangeovese and Barberas that Fran makes, as well as the Sauvagnon Blanc. It is a fun, low key, place and you can tell that they are enjoying making wines that are, in my opinion, excellent and affordable. I would recommend making Sunce a stop on your tour of the Russian River Valley.

They have great wine, no cost, they let you taste anything, its a lovely place, unprentious, fun. Best winery to visit yet, they even have a Bocce Ball court.
