Eli's Mile High Club, Oakland

Last night was Halloween. It was a blast. The drinks were fandtastic. They were also cheap. They had a special Halloween punch. They were properly jamming tons of Misfits from the jukebox. They also played some Ramones songs. There was some hot chicks in there. The neighborhood is up and coming. It's really not as ghetto as some people say. It is close to Mac Arthur Bart. They have $2 Olympia beer. They have Anchor steam. Also they have Patron. People were wearing hilarious costumes. There was two midgets in a costume. There was a costume party. This was a fun night. Next time I go to Eli's I will have a drink. Next time I go to Eli's I might get a Hamburger. The French Fries are great. They come out hot! There was a costume contest. It has an outdoor patio. The falafels are recognized and approved by the highest food judges. There is a couple minuses, but it is not there fault it is the neighbors fault so I won't go into detail.

This is a really great venue for live music. The neighborhood is a little depressed, and that might make some patrons feel unsafe, but if you look at the crime statistics for the area, Berekley is far worse. The club has been renovated and is actually much nicer inside than it was in the heyday of the blues. They have good food, and reasonably priced drinks. The staff is very friendly. Eli's has hosted some of the biggest names in blues since it first opened in 1974. Although the emphasis has shifted to more varieties of music and karaoke nights, you can still occasionly hear good blues bands there.

Its what a Blues nightclub is all about. parking was a problem.
