Get your own little slice of Hollywood and catch a glimpse of your favorite stars in rare form—wax, that is. Here, with a showcase of over 100 stars, you'll be surrounded in all the glitz and glamour tinseltown has to offer. It takes approximately three months, up to USD25,000, and a great deal of artistry to bring these talented actors to life. The Hollywood Wax Museum prides itself on the authenticity of its representations, and you're sure to notice it too! The museum is also alongside many other Hollywood attractions, like Grauman's Chinese Theatre , and accomodations like the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel .

Not that exciting
By Heather, 10/24/09
My friend and I went here thinking it was like the wax museum in Las Vegas. But it was nothing like Madam's. The wax figures didn't look very realistic and its set up so you're walking into the movie scene with the character. It was neat, but I probably won't go back.

No way I'll ever go back!

What a waste! Small, dirty and badly displayed. Most figures (and I know 99 out of 100 stars by looks) are not signed. Some are so bad I couldn't tell who they were. Keep your great memories of Movieland Wax Museum and spend your time and money at the nearby Hollywood History Museum.

Total Tourist Trap
By Mike, 07/05/08
Terrible Terrible Terrible.Wax figures looked cheap and barely resembled the actors they were trying to portray. Some were dingy some were shiny and looked like mannequins in a department store. Chintzy backdrops, could only view from a distance. If i were an actor with my likeness on display here,i would ask them to take it down...

Give It A Try
By unknown, 06/27/08
My husband didn't want to go here. But he was glad he did. It was so fun seeing this celebrities and you really get into poseing with them. To alot of people it may sound boring. But we loved it.

I loved the Hollywood Wax museum! Its a great place to go with a loved one and check out all the real looking waxed people. It has a really interesting beginning with horror character, that will send chills up your back! I loved it so much, go check it out!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/07
the meuseum is horrible. they were showing shows like bonanza. i went to the wax meuseum in San Francisco and it was way better. they dont even show signs for most of the dolls so you had to guess most of them. plus they didnt even look like the real people. dont go there it is a complete rip off

Corny but fun!
If you like ghouls, go on in. We enjoyed the old and new monsters (Dracula, Phantom, Freddy, Jason, Crypt Keeper). The “famous folks” weren’t that great (Tom, Haly, Gwyneth –I think that was supposed to be her). I read that it was not the best quality wax museum and I agree. My expectations were low so I was not disappointed. We had a good time though AND they validate parking from the Hollywood and Highland garage. Recommended if you're into "tourity" fun.

Didn't look real and you couldn't take pictures near them
By MichaelW, 05/20/07
Our biggest problem with the wax museum was that none of the figures looked good. Some were ok, many were bad and some were completely awful, I mean they didn't even look like people let alone the stars they were trying to portray. For example an Arnold Schwarzenegger figure from the movie Conan the Barbarian wasn't nearly as massive as it should have been, I weigh 195 and I was about the same size as Arnold. As for his face, I don't know who's face that was but it wasn't Arnold's, it looked nothing like him. Next problem is that every figure was roped off in one way or another so you couldn't get near them to take a picture with them. I've seen pictures from friends who went to other wax museums where you walk right up to the figures and take a picture next to them so it looks like you really met the person -- not the case here, you can't get anywhere near the figures. So basically for us it was a complete waste of time and money.

Unless your real bored
By Jason, 02/01/07
I wouldn't go back to this place. All of the stars did not look good. Some of them looked real bad. Plus it was pretty expensive for the 15 minutes it took walking as slow as i could through this place. There is a scary part with all the horror heros, that wasn't so bad. But, unless you can't find anything else to do while your in Hollywood, i would stay away.
