Hollywood Walking Tour
Take the official self-guided audio tour through Hollywood's famous historic locations and learn fascinating stories and legendary tales of the stars of early Hollywood. Tour durations are one hour for feature length and 30-minutes for short subject.
It's certainly original, it's awesome seeing so many people taking pictures of the floor. It's the one strip of pavement you'll never find any money on as everyone is constantly looking down.
It's good, but not on the list of must see's... Although it is hard to avoid.
I must check which stars have their stars outside McDonalds next time I go...
The walk of fame is very long and everything is spread out quite a long way. It is crowded. You are bothered by street performers, homeless people and sales people so be prepared to say no a lot.
If there is a particular star you are wanting to see, I would get a map first to find out where it is located.
A fun walk to take. There are over 2000 stars up and down Hollywood Blvd. and Vine St.
It is neat to look at and may remind you of some great stars of the past.
If you can make it on a day where a star is being presented, the movie star recipient and other stars are always present.
In one month in 2003 Anthony Hopkins, Selma Hayek, Robert Duvall, Gary Sinese and Billy Bob Thorton were all either honored or attending ceremonies on 'the Walk.'
The area where the stars are located features many great landmarks (like the Chinese Theater) and plenty of fun shops and museums.
DON'T CALL IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A WALKING TOUR. The number is not one for a walking tour. This form is forcing me to write more, so I will, but the fact remains, the number doesn't work. For further proof that the number doesn't work, one could call, but one would be at least moderately disappointed that one didn't get someone who worked at a walking tour company. Seriously though, Yahoo won't let me post unless I write more. There isn't much to this, Yahoo Travel, but I shall digress.
Have you guys seen Body of Proof yet? It's actually getting quite good. I think Jeri Ryan is brilliant in it. Her role should be expanded though in my opinion. Great actress.
So if I haven't gotten my original point across, let's return to that. The number for this walking tour is inaccurate at best, insulting at worst - though I don't know anybody sensitive enough to be insulted by a wrong number. Just simply don't call this number and you won't waste about 15 seconds of your life. You can do a lot in 15 seconds...like brush your teeth. What? Is that why I got all these cavities?
By the way I don't really know why you'd want to take a walking tour of Hollywood. I live here and I have no idea why you'd be interested in this area. Mann's/Groumann's Chinese Theatre - whoa, hands in the ground. People etch their kids' hands in cement when they install basketball hoops in their driveway. This will get old after 1 minute. Even if they're celebs. Plus, you're going to be bothered by Spider Man and Capt. Jack Sparrow. Just go to Disneyland instead, that way you have rides (I think?). Hollywood Walk of Fame? You can buy a star for the right price. Actually is a good moneymaker for the city of Hollywood. And by you, I meant you (generally), because you need a lot of money to buy one. It's not like they hand you one as you leave. Hollywood Sign is just a sign, and you can see it from afar from most of Hollywood. Just take it in from the Hollywood & Highland shopping mall, because you're already there, and be satisfied with it. When you get closer to it by going on these Hollywood Sign Tours, you realize how dense you are for paying someone to take you close to a sign that doesn't light up at night a la Vegas, and doesn't allow you to play anywhere near it (i.e. taking pictures of yourself inside the "O"). It's under surveillance by armed guards and the neighbors hate your guts for parking your rent-a-car on a narrow, one lane road just so you can "hold up" the Hollywood Sign and throw it up on Facebook and show your friends how cool you aren't.
Alright, character requirement reached. Don't call this number, for it is wrong. Love yall.
