Hollywood Standard, The, Los Angeles

The pool area, "lounge", and various places to sit and people watch were pretty nice. But if you are actually planning to STAY at the hotel: You will be disappointed. Sure, it is one of the cheaper places on the Sunset strip, but after you step into their rooms you will understand why. Flimsy walls, crunchy carpet, and that... "smell". Sort of a musty odor that they obviously try to cover up using tons of disinfectant and pine sol. Weird.

The Standard lived up to its hype. The lounge was the epitome of LA night life and the stay was quite pleasant. The food was excellent and the bar service was amazing. My favorite part was the cute hostess in the reastaurant, named Lisa. I'll go back not only to relive my great times there but to catch a glimpse of her!
