Theater going downhill
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/08
The theater itself is a great little theater, very intimate and is easy to get involved in the production. Last years's show, "The Hit" was very engaging and wonderfully done. I laughed out loud many times and the show kept moving at an engaging pace.
I find their production to be very inconsistent, however, with the most recent "LIght in the Piazza" to be quite unenjoyable. We almost left halfway through, only to regret not leavings as the first scene after intermission we were assaulted with a too loud cacaphony of screeching (what passes for singing at LPT) and the unpleasant dissonance of avant guard music. We are seriously thinking of giving up our season tickets as the direction the last several years has been downhill. We only seem to enjoy one out of 4 performances, and the good ones are getting fewer and further between.
