did not honor my wifes gift of a play with dinner after. charged us for dinner!!! we asked for our certificate back or at least a copy, never saw it again. Marty, you have some explaining to do. your waiters were rude . i am a lifetime resident of coronado. please do not go to this place, i am ashamed. eat in town. please do not here!!!

Sorry, but once we saw the prices, it put a damper on everything. The steak I ordered was heavenly, but it was better down the road and half the price. No, we won't be going back.

The new owner is really great. He gives personal attention to his guests. We started coming to the Boat House in 1971 and it has even been better since the new owner took over. The food is of high quality and there is good selection at a very good value. They also have a very fine selection of wine. The food was way over priced. I would not go back if the menu prices were cut in half. The scallops were pretty good, but under cooked. The crab cakes tasted like something you would buy from the frozen section of a grocery store. My husband and I both left feeling sick to our stomaches, and it was not from over eating. The bar tender gave us great service, but our server was plastic.

Beatifully restored boathouse..great views of San Diego Bay. A must eat place while in the San Diego area!!! The menu was outstanding..the food excelent..and the service was wonderful. We loved it!!!

It was our first time there, my fiance took me for a late mother's day dinner. Our server showed me how to "peel" the artichoke. I wasn't sure which wine to choose so she took the time to explain the difference and even got me 2 samples so I could choose. Our total bill with wine, appetizers and both meals was a very fair price for the quality and quanitity of the food we had. I would definaltey recommend the Coronado Boathouse to others and can't wait to go back this month! I think this time we are going to try the dinner cruise.

The restaraunt itself is a very nice building with nice views at night if you're lucky enough to land a seat at a waterfront table; however, the service is lackluster, the food is no better than you would get at Outback or TGI Friday's, and the prices are astronomical for it all (we spent $100 on dinner for two with no appetizer, no drinks except water, and no dessert). The chef's prepared my wife's "medium-well" steak as a rare, my rare-medium steak was charred outside and ice cold inside. Upon exiting the restaraunt after dinner, we noticed several staff members lounging outside the doors smoking and talking and running back and forth from car to car in the parking lot and then back into the building. Very distasteful and a turn-off if I had noticed it prior to dinner. I went in to talk to a manager about our experience and was told that there is no manager on duty at night (they open at 5pm). I'm curious as to when the manager might be there if not at "night". My overall experience was terrible. I would not suggest the Coronado Boathouse to anyone and I will not be visiting again.

I love the waterfront location. The food is excellent. It's a great date location.
