MountainView CC by Andrew Gregory Casey, PGA
By ,
I was privileged to start my experience at MVCC as a twelve year old in 1963. Back then my parents had joined the club and it was owned by Al Arnold. The golf shop was owned by Bob McAllister. I learned golf there and actually shagged balls for Bobby Nichols on their shag range. Bobby was one of several professionals there who played the tour. I also became the club champion years later and then started my professional carrer there in 1988. I am still a PGA Pro here in Florida but I will never forget the course, the people who worked there, the Jess Askew Open in 1965, a PGA Tour event, the friends I made there, Mel, my first hole in one #7 and the years and years of enjoyment and anticipation of teeing off on #1. I know that the course fell into disrepair and was missmanaged for years but I am proud to say that MVCC was my home,,RIP.

Not worth the Rate
By ,
The high point of my golf experience at Mountain View was the par fives. After Teeing off from the under maintained tee boxes the fair ways were average at best. The age of the course is showing. On your walk from the cart path to the tee boxes you can see an assortment of weeds before and on the tee box. What water hazards the course has are poorly kept. Trash floating along the banks of the ponds and fowl smells from the stagnant waters.Another little adventure the course had was taking on was the sprinklers that were running n the approach to the green. Needless to say that green was skipped . If your back isn't what it use to be in your younger days. You might want to try avoiding the run down cart paths. Pretty bumpy .Maybe I just happened to show up on the an off day. But After my experience at Mountain View Country club i will not return.

VERY CHALLENGING COURSE
By ,
Not much too complain about. Very nice place to play. I wish it had a driving range. I'm not certain how well monitored the course is, but I haven't seen any real problems on the course. Course has some very challenging holes, much change in elevation, some holes with hidden pins. Par 3's are tough; on one the green is totally surrounded by a lake; another is 230 yards. Not neat and tidy; much debris in revines etc., but this does not interfere with play. Very good bargain.

Ripping Course mate

The course was very challenging, best item: the greens were outstanding. Some incredible hole layouts, notably the par five # 4, where you can crunch a drive 300 and have a view. Was not the plushest fairways but the fast sweet rolling greens totally had that covered. Very good overall playability with good service and excellent cost! The helpful pro told me the place had been a PGA tour stop back in the day and Freddy Couples was the current course record holder. Would play there again...beer was cold !

Great New Facilities
By ,
This public golf course has really made improvements within the last six months. The Country Club has been renovated and a brand new bar added. The course has really improved with attention to detail. For the price you can't go wrong. Definitely will go back.

It was ok. The condition was not kept up that nice. If you are looking for a cheap place to play then this is it. If you want somewhere nice stay away.
