This place has improved significantly in the past few months. I have never seen the course so green before in my life. The Superintendents Todd Shank & Jon Cancel are really turning this place around. This course is worth a new look.
I recently played this course and I was in shock when I saw how difficult this course could be. There isn't one hole there that looks like another. I have played many courses in the inland empire like diamond valley, quail ranch, indian hills but if I chose a home course that I could play regularly it would be cresta verde.
This course has undoubtedly improved in the past year or so. It is my inclination that the course is under new management. The greens are pure and free of imperfections, the fairways are diverse, and the course overall is kept clean. Me and my brother golf twice a month. For the price, this course cannot be beat in the Inland Empire.
I played this course on Sat. afternoon for the first time. The course is pretty open; we don't have to wait for any group ahead until 16 hole so it's a great plus for people used to 5+ hours round. The course itself is kind of dry; most of the fairways are yellowish and having lots of bare spots, sand traps are mostly hard. I was surprised that the back nines are meandering through houses that I have to cross streets 4-5 times. I was driving in an alley that is barely enough for the golf cart! Overall for the price I paid (30.00) and the playing pace I experienced, I thinked it's fair. But I would probably check other courses first before playing again.
I recently started golfing a few months ago and I found this course to be great...I just wish my score was the same. I've played at green river, aliso viejo, and paradise knolls. We had a few larger and slower groups ahead of us and it took a little time, but if you're a regular at green river than I hope you can keep up, its not that slow. The wait isn't all that bad. I find this course to be user friendly, I only lost a couple of balls, but I'm new at this. Some of the holes were enjoyable, some difficult, and some very challenging, but that is what I'm looking for. To give you an idea of what I shoot, I shot a 110. No cheating involved. I like this course and would play it again if they had a tee time open.
