this was a wonderful dining experience. we were not sure which restuarant to go to for the night so we pretty much drew straws, and im glad the we chose the sows ear. its a small little fine ding restuarant with reasonable prices. the atmosphere is very quiet and inviting with a wonderful wait staff. they bring you wheat and white bread the has been baked in a clay pot, and boy is it good. the menu the have has lots of options from mac and cheese to steak to sea food all with fine dining touch, but without the price. i ordered the lobster pot pie , which was mouthwatering and filling. it had several full lobster claw meat and an unbelievable cream sauce all topped with a huge piece of puff pastry. they also have early dinner specials from 5-6. i couldnt even eat it all. it was a great place to eat and a great experince. we will be returning.
What more can I say? the food is wonderful (especially the chicken fried steak) , the service is excellent and the atmosphere is great too. I travel from Bakersfield at least 2 or three times a year just to get this wonderful food. Also a great place for romantics.
