LOOK THIS WAS ONCE A GREAT PLACE SOMETHING HAS CHANGED . THE DAY USERS PAY 25.00 FROM 10:00 AM TO 7:PM THAT'S GREAT THEM THE 7:00 TO 9:00 PM PAY 10:00 IT'S A PUBLIC POOL YOU PAY 159.00 A NIGHT AND YOUR SITTING IN A PUBLIC POOL . THE HOTEL MAKES 250.00 BECAUSE THEY ALLOW 25 PEOPLE IN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 25 PEOPLE THEY LET IN FOR 25.00 DOLLARS ARE STILL THERE.YOU AS A STAYING IN THE HOTEL GUEST ARE NOT HAVING A QUITE PEACEFUL EXPERENCE. THE HOTEL PUTS THE PUBLIC FIRST OR THERE MONEY BEFORE YOUR CONFORT SOMETHING HAS CHANGED ALSO IF YOU LIKE VERY HARD MATTRESS YOU'LL LOVE THERES. WE HAD PAIN AND NO SLEEP ALL OF THREE NIGHTS STAY THAT 400.00 + DOLLARS OF DISCONFORT.

some changes are not for the best
By Robert, 7/28/07
I had been a regular at this resort-there was a recent change in management and was treated rudely.i brought this to the attention of the chamber of commerce and the owner only to be ignored-it appears that they can lose customers because there are many to take there place

Great Escape
By justfishing, 11/10/06
This place is a great escape from the daily grind. The mud bath & mineral treatment was the best. The staff were friendly & very helpful. The restraunts, shops & grocery store are one block away. This was the most relaxing getaway we've had. We highly recommend this place & Calistoga.

I'm a long-time patron
By AirportRat, 8/11/05
I have tried almost all of the mud bath/spa places in Calistoga and this is my favorite. I have only stayed there once, though, and not sure I would stay again. I love the pools, the services are great, but try and get a lounge chair- I remember waking up and going down to the pool, relatively early, about 9:30am. Every single chair had a towel or bag on it, and not a soul could be found. It turns out that they unlock the gate to the public, who pay to use the pools for the day, and then these people comandeer all the chaises AND the tables with umbrellas and chairs. Once they "save their place", and leave one person to "watch their stuff", they leave and come back, sometimes hours later. The front desk was totally unresponsive to my complaints. I couldn't believe that as a guest of the hotel, I was unable to sit and relax by the pool. I never went back.

I'd go Back In A (Hot Water) Minute
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/23/05
The pools at this place are fantastic. 4 of them; 4 different temperatures. Very nice. You could sit and move from one to another all day. Lots of good lounging areas and nice picnicing facilities right near the rooms. Everything was clean and neat and in good condition. The kitchenettes had adequate pans, plates, utinsels, etc. and nice fridge, cooktop and table/chairs for meals. They obviously EXPECT people to stay awhile & cook for themselves much of the time. The rooms were not large, and the baths were expecially tiny -- but that's not so important when you're soaking in hot pools all the time anyway. It is also right downtown, making it easy to go out for a meal, run to the hardware store or the post office, or do a bit of shopping. Not cheap, but not super expensive either. Well worth the price for a relaxing, comfortable few days of lounging and soaking. We didn't try the spa services here.
