My daughter gave me a day at the spa with massage. We went on Christmas Eve day, and upon arriving we were greeted with the smells of hot apple cider and a fire in the fireplace. We were given a tour and were excited about our few hours there! The massage was wonderful, and the quiet room serene! My daughter's favorite room was the cool mist room!......I loved and enjoyed everything and felt our day was toooo short! Because I loved it so much, I received 2 gift certificates for my 60th birday and another on mother's day! I am excited about returning for a day at the spa. This time I'll even have lunch.
The only thing I am still a little uncomfortable about is 1 or 2 women walked around nude, where most wore bathing suits or bras and panties while using the hot tub & then robes.... Okay, so I'm a bit modest
I completely enjoyed my appointment at the Burke Williams Spa, Block of Orange. I received my first gift certificate for a gift and waited 5 months to go...and boy was I sorry I had not used it sooner! (Now I find an 'excuse' to go once a month. The atmosphere is classy, quiet and relaxing. I totally enjoyed my soak in the hot tub before having my appointment. The staff is friendly, professional and caring. I highly recommend this spa experience to anyone. I often take several girlfriends with me and we make a day of it.
This is the best place, and for all the people that bitch..deal with it..yes it is busy...hello...its southern california..everything is busy. JuST deal baby! Maybe you would be more happy at a korean spa..lol
Burke WIlliams at the block is my all time favorite spa! Every minute spent is well worth every dollar. The facility is clean and the staff are welcoming. Whenever I think of having a relaxing couple of hours...I think of Burke William. I absolutely love their facials!
My Mother's day gift from my daughter turned out to be the worst experience. The attendent from the beginning was for sure not gentle, nearing the end of the treatment she paddled the souls of my heels, I commented that it was rather painful, she asked me if the pressure was too much, communication was not good, she paddled my feet two more times, when the treatment was finished she asked me if I heard the birds, the music. Since this treatment my heals are sensitive, now visiting a podometrist.
Wow!!!!!! I 've had many spa experiences but the thing that stood out about this experience was after I finished my massage, I retrieved my robe and it was heated. What a wonderful feeling. This was an added touch that the locations in Pasadena and Hollywood could not beat. The facility was very clean and the staff were very friendly. I definitely recommend this spot.
I consider myself to be a seasoned spa user and the Burke Williams spa at The Block in Orange was a big waste of money. For the money spent, you could have a more relaxing, professional experience. I had a gift certificate so I went with some friends. My first impression walking in the door was not good. The lobby was packed with people checking in. One of the staff gave our group of 6 a tour and showed us back to the locker rooms. Upon entry, I noticed a packed, (at least 10 or more) people waiting in the co-ed area for their appointments. We all got changed and went in the crowded jacuzzi and steam room. We retreated to the quiet room since the main area was full. When 6 of us got the last 3 seats left, we waited for our appts. The therapist and manicurist I had were mediocre at best and I'm guessing possibly right out of school. After the treatments those of us who waited 20 minutes in line for the shower did so and the others just changed and waited.
The only thing I can equate this place to was a factory. I have visited a great number of spas all over and have never seen the crowds and volume this place turns over. The staff seem to be very young and need a little experience. It's obvious they do alot of business, but I wonder how many return clients they have. This is certainly not an experience I would like to have again. For the money, there are MANY wonderful spas in Orange County to choose from.
