Disney's California Adventure
In this era of fluctuating gas prices, why burn precious fuel seeing all the wondrous and storied sights of the Golden State? This Disney theme park is your one-stop shop for everything California! Tour Hollywood back lots, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the San Francisco Bay Area, and a contemporary re-imagining of the party-pier amusement parks of 1940s Santa Monica - all without ever leaving the convenience of a single city block in downtown Anaheim. Thrill rides here go above and beyond the kiddie fare at neighboring Disneyland , and the concession stands offer beer, wine and margaritas. The "oceanfront" bandstand plays host to classic California mainstays like the Beach Boys and Kool & The Gang, solidifying the location's reputation as a theme park destination truly fun for the whole family.
A wonderful complement to Disneyland Park. With bigger walkways and more space it accomodates a larger crowd. Tower of Terror and Monsters, Inc. are really fun additions to DCA. Theming is wonderful, as in DL.
And in DCA guests can have dinner and wine while watching a parade.
I just wish it stayed open as late as DL.
This park does pale in comparison to
Disneyland but there are some worthwhile attractions. My favorite, and I cannot stress this enough was the show Alladin. This was just great. Very talented actors and actresses doing a great story. We were simply amazed by how much we enjoyed this. Now we were in this area with a 5 day park hopper, and I'm not sure I would ever pay separately to get into this park. It was worthwhile seeing on a park hopper though.
I LOVE California Adventure!! Rides that are a MUST when you go are: Soarin' Over California, California Screamin', Grizzly River Run, A Bug's Life 4D and Maliboomer. It's not as big as Disneyland, so it's easier to get around. Lots of places to eat, and just rest. They also have a wine tasting area for the adults (no kiddos on this one!). One terrific thing is they have a fresh produce stand right there in the park, so your not just offered junky food. It's got a great atmosphere and good layout.
While it's smaller than Disneyland, it's still a great park. The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror and California Screamin' are two outstanding rides. The park also has some great shows and nice places to eat. Overall, it provides a fun day.
I love the California music and the complete contrast to the quaintness and history of Disneyland. This park has a tough audience with Disneyland across the way . It has more room, wide open spaces and a different theme, Electric Light Parade & Block Party - great entertainment.
Soarin', Tower of Terror and Screamin' all add to the fun, more geared toward the teens and grown-ups. But look for the little things, Bugs Life, Mulan, Animation Building! Tons of things to explore, you need to search them out, and enjoy!!!
We were told that Disney California Adventure was not as good as Disneyland! WRONG!! We loved it there!
From Bug's Land to Screamin' it was great for the whole family!!
And, because no one seems to think it's great the lines aren't as long. We had so much fun
We were going to buy a one day ticket to Disneyland park, but my friend wanted to check out California Adventure. The Disneyland only ticket was $56, and a ticket to visit both parks on the same day is $76.
It was the biggest waste of $20 (actually $80 for 4 people), we didn't get everything done at Disneyland that we wanted to, and had to leave California Adventure to catch Fantasmic and the Fireworks at Disneyland.
All we really did was go on Tower of Terror (its OK, nothing real special) and the hang gliding ride Soaring. That was nice, but not really worth the wait.
I would make sure you finished everything you can and want to do at Disneyland before thinking about a ticket to California Adventure. I would say you could easily do two complete days at Disneyland
