Lake Catherine State Park

I love this place. The staff is wonderful. I had called several times before my arrival asking questtions and when I arrived it was like the staff new me by name and were waiting on me. Me and my husband had a wonderful time grilling, sitting on the dock and feeding the ducks. We saw quite a few deers. The location of the park is very close to downtown Hot Springs so we were able to enjoy the town during the day and relax at the end of the day at the cabin on the great screened in back porch. They also have great activities during the nice season. Me and my husband rented a canoe (first-time) and had a blast touring the lake. They also have boats, kayaks and other things for rent. Our honeymoon is coming up and we have already made reservations to spend it here.

My grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in the park. Easy access to docks for fishing. He enjoyed swimming in the lake even though it was too cold from me. Lake Catherine is only about 15 minutes to Hot Springs. While there we saw lots of wildlife, including deer. There is a neat horseback riding trail near the park. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

This was a beautiful park. The swimming beach was wonderful. My kids really enjoyed the trail ride (20.00 each). The guide was wonderful. Will definitely go back and stay longer.

Lake Catherine was the most enjoyable vacation my husband and I have ever taken! We so needed the peace and quiet! We were 1st timers and everyone was more than helpful and friendly... from the office and gift shop to the park hosts and the housekeeping staff! The park is breath taking the wild critters running around, the views of the lake, the quiet!!! We were there for 6 days in duplex 11 Clean COMFORTABLE everything in working order no half baked utensils or furnishings. We had deer squirrel geese raccoons and birds all around our cabin. SOME of them made themselves quite at home with us! If you've never been you need to go and once you go you WILL go back,we are! We are planning a family vacation with the kids and grand kids for next year!!! The price is more than affordable and you will never run out of things to do Just can't say enough about the place!!!

The staff at this Arkansas State Park loves kids and families. During the summer, park interpreters have all sorts of activities for the kids and adults from nature study to crafts. The park has cabins, camping, hiking trails,fishing, boat rentals, summer horseback riding, swimming. It is just a great place to come and charge your batteries and get a little closer to those you love. It is close to Hot Springs, which is a good family oriented town with lots to do for the entire family also. There are websites for both the Arkansas State Parks and for Hot Springs that can give you lots of info. This place is far enough out to feel like you are out in the woods, but close enough in to get to shopping, attractions and such. The cabins are on the lakeshore and many of the campsite are as well. We got to see a brand new fawn by our cabin. It is very busy in the summer months, but many of the cabins have fireplaces for winter visitors (the cabins have all the comforts of home...some are 60 years old and built by the Civilian Conservation Corps...very cool). We are definitely going back when it is cold enough to use the fireplace!

We went camping in our trailer and had a wonderful time. The people were extremely friendly and the restrooms were incredibly clean. We will definitely go back. We had deer visit our campsite every night and loved it. The lake is beautiful and it was truly one of the most relaxing places I have ever been.
