I went with my 10 year old son and the staff was super friendly and even included my son in a trick which he LOVED! This is well worth the money and anyone who sees this show and walks away disappointed has noone to blame but themself. He is a great illusionist and a very entertaining performer! The wholesome family atmosphere and Christian values were not overly imposing but just enough to make me feel good about taking my son to see this man. We both walked away that night thoroughly pleased and we can't wait to go again! I would reccomend seeing this show if you are looking for an affordable fun activity for the whole family. Anyone who has children who were scared and trying to blame that on Maxwell are only shifting the blame to someone other than themself. As a parent you have the responsibility to educate your child on the difference between real and make believe. If your kid really believes they will attend a magic show where someone will truly have their head cut off in front of a live audience then that kid has bigger problems than being scared at a magic show. God Bless everyone! :D
The seven of us (all in our 50's except our 10 year old) had a great time. Our little girl got Guillotined on stage and she loved it. Max takes the time after the show to teach the kids (that want to know) how to do the simple tricks he has in the show. He also performs some outstanding illusions as part of his act. He is a good CLEAN professional entertainer who also happens to be a nice, caring guy. Worth every penny. Thank you Mr. Blade
I loooved the Maxwell Blade show. I had planned his show as part of our vacation. NOONE in my group wanted to go but, I think out of respect for me, they went. Everyone there was very nice. I had called in advance to make sure about prices and I have two very small children. They were just as nice in person as on the phone. We saw the show, my kids got to go on stage and be a part of the show. During a break, Maxwell was in the front signing things and selling majic kits and what not. Greating ppl also. We left there with the promise to see him everytime we came back to Hot Springs. I also got pats on the back and reviews for myself for "planning" for the whole family to go. We WILL be going back on July 1, 2011 for another show.
attended the magic show 11/20/2010, was Excellent! the old theatre on the historic walk in Hot Springs had a quaint and relaxed atmosphere. The show was fast moving, good for all ages and Im certain not one person attending did not laugh and was not amazed at his slight of hand at some point in the evening. A comedy/magic act.
We went by earlier in the day for tickets, Mr. Blade was keeping shop at that time and was so sincere and personable; what a nice man striving to make the world a better place.
After the show he invites the audience to join him for a beverage next door.... Not often have I seen an entertainer who embraces the audience with such passion. We were not able to go and rather wish we would have in lieu of prior commitment....
Would highly recommend this show to everyone visiting Hot Springs.
Saw the show on internet, and took my wife out for dinner and a 'show.' She wasn't sure what to expect, but really had a great time. It is obvious Max loves entertaining as well as having settled down to a good ol' Southern home town. Great for all of us Arkansans to have he and his family here in Arkansas. Turned an old building into a really eclectic memoriabilia museum and theatre.
I have never been to Hot Springs before.I did hear about the Magic show it sounded exciting. I was told to come early because the show would sell out. I thought this guy must be good. This is going to be exciting. I could not wait. My friend we got a bit to eat and then headed over the the show. The men at the door were nice to take our tickets. Then told us where we had to sit. strike one. An couple came in and where going to sit where they wanted. The Man with the wizard hat (Sightly hump backed) told them where to sit The elderly gentleman hold the man with the wizard hat that some of their friends where coming a little later and and they would like to sit together. The man would not hear any excuses You need to sit here we need to fill the seats up front first. Strike two. Needless to say the parties could not sit together. The Show itself was great the magic was winderful, but left a not so good impression upon me and my friend. I did feel sorry for the elderly couple. They could not sit with their friends. I hope this will change. The wizard man needs instructions as to how to treat those who paid to see the show. How would he feel if it was done to him.
My girlfriend and I attended the show on 10/2/10 and were almost late after grabbing a quick bite before the show. I spoke to Maxwell before the show when purchasing the tickets and he was very outgoing and polite. The show was very entertaining and I found myself smiling and laughing the entire show. The Mazwell Blade Magic show will definately be a must the next time we come to Hot Springs and we kept talking about how fun it would be to bring our kids someday. I wish the show great success and god bless! -Luke an Jessica
Oh BTW... It was Jessica's first magic show and she gives it 5 STARS!
I've seen his show twice..it's great. Don't be bothered by mimib's comment earlier..it seems her son may have been a bit of a crybaby or has other serious mental issues if he's 10 and starts bawling at a magic show. It's a great show and lot's of fun for the whole family if your kids are even remotely stable.
We just got back from Hot Springs, AR and one of the highlights was Maxwell Blade. Get there early, the show has a tendency to sell out. We were there an hour before showtime and ended up getting front row seats, which was perfect for our kids ages 5 and 7. They had a great time, as did my wife and I. Our kids were asked up on stage and Blade did some fun stuff with them and some other kids. The show was consistently fun, even with some illusions I had seen before. I recommend this show to anyone. We would love to see him again!
