Wonderful Area
By ,
I loved Lake Ouachita, it was great for fishing. The lookout tower was awesome too. Shops in town were very nice indeed. I've visited multiple times before from 2003 until 2010. At least 5 times. It is my favorite vacation spot. Magic Spring and Chrystal Falls are top rated to me.

we really enjoyed the Promenade Walk on the red brick path. the Fordyce bathhouse was more like a museum & it was free!! our 8 yr old was very interested. the whole family was very interested awed by all the hot spring fountains every where, because the water really is HOT!

Only go if you are really bored
By ,
Hot Springs has equal pros & cons....it's notorious for rude drivers, overpriced hotels, traffic backups, and shops that smell like hot mildew. The scenery does help make up for the cons but do your homework and plan ahead before you go.

I love it!

Hot Springs has so much to do-but make sure you have enough time to do it all. MAKE SURE to visit bath house row-it is awesome and also has lots of stores and shops!

Don't wear heels or sandals
By ,
Ate lunch there, visited the mountain tower, found the drinking water fountain. Bring empty water containers. The water tastes so refreshing and it's free! Didn't take the hiking trails so I didn't see the springs. I'll bring my jogging shoes next time!

Hot Spring Mountian Tower
By ,
The view from the top is worth the climb or drive. The observation tower allows you to see the entire valley around Hot Springs. The Climb up peak trail is a moderate to strenuous up hill half mile hike or you can drive to the base of the tower. Do forget to bring your own bottles for free spring water.

Beautiful scenery
By ,
Hot Springs National Park and mountain is beautiful. The drive up to the top of the mountain and back down is about 3 1/2 miles long. It is a windy road. We ran out of time and were not able to hike up one of the many paths. However, we were content with the beautiful drive. Ask for a map of the mountain at the Fordyce...it is complete with hiking paths.
