Toy Chest, The, Hot Springs

This was the best toy shop I've ever been to. The owner was fantastic and told great stories! Super friendly, helpful, and sold the nicest toys. My son was in heaven!

THis store has an amazing array of creative and unique toys, some people don't like good ole customer to owner relations... turnsole come here! after a few visits you will be known by name .. givin discounts and even some free birthday gifts! the owners are very nice and interactive as well as helpful! some complain they are to protective... what do you expect??!? one of the Busiest tourist destininations in arkansas and hundreds coming in and out every day? sorry you can't just enter and pick up stuff and jam it in your purse like walmart! this is an old fashioned and highly recommended toy store experience!

Good toy selection, but was told "Not 1 item in this store will be at Walmart or Toys R Us"...NOT TRUE....I found several items at Walmart like games and Books that were at the toy chest. Cracker Barrel, Tractor Supply. TJ Maxx and Books a Million ALSO carry lots of the same items! AT A MUCH CHEAPER PRICE......no one FOLLOWS you around....pushing you to buy anything in these other stores. My experience at the toy chest made our family feel VERY uncomfortable. The older woman gave us dirty looks, took my husbands water bottle from him, and told us that our 7 year old was too young to pick out a gift that she likes!! Older Kids know what they like and dont like. Sales people were very friendly, greeted us while we were there and offered help if needed. Dont walk on shoppers heels TOY CHEST owners, YOU WILL LOSE BUSINESS..........................................

We stopped in to see if they had anything "interesting" for our 4-month old grandson. Amazingly helpful owners -- guided us to the right spot with excellent information and wisdom as to the best toy for that age group. You can tell the owners are passionate about what they do. Ended up buying his Christmas present and will definitely be going back for more. Wonderful experience.

The toys are remarkable - no electronics or gimmicks, but all educational and imagination promoting. My husband and I went there when I was pregnant and were amazed by the quality of the toys. Now that my son is born we will make the trip back (200 miles away) occasionally to get him some of these toys. The children that we saw there were having a ball playing with the display toys and the owners encouraged the hands on approach. So much better than the typical fare at mega stores. As for the other reviewers comments about the owners - they are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I certainly didn't feel uncomfortable, I guess it is unusual these days to get good friendly service. Wonderful experience and wonderful store.

The people are a little over protective and do follow you around. They do know their toys. I enjoyed listening to the owner talk about Thomas the train items. Very unique store, find things you can't find anywhere else. Always visit when in Hot Springs

I agree with people who say it was an uncomfortable experience!! They seem like nice people (the store owners), but they are quite protective of the store. It isn't clear whether they expect you to steal something, or they just don't want you to touch the items. It seems odd since it is a KID store, and kids love to touch and play with the toys. My granddaughter reached for a toy, and it was immediately taken out of her hand.

I love how they always have unique good quality toys that you can't find anywhere else. The atmosphere is very friendly!! The owner and employees were extremely helpful and courteous! And no i'm not a relative, just a loyal customer.

Wow, to much to list. My family thought, what a break to do something for the kids. Think twice before you enter. The owners are like attack dogs. If your child picks up a toy, they take it away. My husband had a small piece of candy from another store and was going to eat it while we were shopping, they told him not to do that again, because they do not allow food in their store. Come On people, this was an Adult your talking too. I could under stand bringing in a dripping ice cream cone!!!! The one nice review on this site, had to be a relative or the owners themselves!!!!

I feel like the moment my girls and I walk in there, that they are following us. I don't know if it's because they think we're going to steal, or if they are afraid we're going to break something. It's a very uncomfortable feeling. I have been in this store several times and each time I get the same feeling. I love their selection, but I really have to want something there in order to fight the downtown traffic, then look around forever for a parking spot,then once I get into the store I know what kind of treatment I'm going to get in there. It's definitely not the best store for good customer service, but they do have the neatest toys in there. I love looking at the unique selection they have, but again I feel like the minute I just say I'm looking, they turn their noses up and just follow me around.
