I have been visiting that city since I was a kid to see my grandparents, as a child seeing a tiger or bear that is small and cute is a neat thing. BUT when you go back as an adult and the cages are the same size and the animals are fully grown and a tiger is lethargic and literally whining and crying something has to be done. When your children are crying as they leave because their heart hurts that those animals are treated that way it is up to us as adults to put a stop to it. IT IS WRONG!! You can put the last time I visited was 2009 BUT I HAVE BEEN COMING SINCE 1977!
This FREE, little zoo is very well-kept and manicured. It is true that the animals don't have miles of terrain to explore, but for its size, the Crossett Zoo is adequate AND clean. It has improved over the years. I have wonderful memories of this place. Try and find something like it elsewhere and see how much you have to pay just to get in.
This zoo is most definately not horrible. The animals are VERY well taken care of. It is a nice place to take your family for a picnic and your kids would love it. It may not be a big zoo, but it has a lot to offer. The people who work there are very helpful and nice. They work hard to make that zoo a nice place to go. For those of you with the bad comments, you probably have no clue on how to take care of animals to know what is good or bad.
This zoo is terrible. The ponies, the ones you're suppose to pet, along with every other animal belonging to that zoo looks awful. They're hair/fur is matted with dirt, they look ill and unhappy. They have a bear in a small cage with concrete and 1 log.
the log takes up most of the cage. The same for theyre hybrid wolf. But luckily for the hybrid he gets dirt instead if concrete. These animals have disgusting water.Theyre poorly taken care of.Never bathed.Half the animals are missing from the time before last i went(probably dead from not being taken care of).Not once have i witnessed a keeper doing anything for those animals. This zoo should either be shut down or ran by people who care for these animals.
Infact i would love to work there. That way id know atleast one person would be looking out for these poor mistreated creatures.
Its free for a reason people.
This is not a zoo. This is a circus area. A zoo has a real exibit of animals, the tiger cage is a mess, the monkey's cage is a mess, the goat's look sick, the bears look hot, and the zoo keeper is not a zoo keeper, she is a friend of the mayor and that's how she got the job. So, let's name it the CROSSLAND CIRCUS!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAD NOT BEEN TO THE ZOO FOR SEVERAL YEARS EVEN THOUGH I LIVE IN CROSSETT. I RECENTLY VISITED AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE CLEANLINESS OF THE ZOO AND THE PARK AND THE VARIETY OF ANIMALS AVAILABLE FOR PEOPLE TO ENJOY.
