Island Wings Air Service

We booked tickets on Island Wings with a vendor in a shack near where the ship docked. . .everything was taken care of and we were to meet the pick-up bus at a location about 100-yards from the shack. At the time we expected pickup, we were at the site. . no pickup. The person who had sold us the flights (flight for 2 persons) had since closed his shack, and was nowhere to be found. We waited for about 45-min, asking questions of people that were in the area, and could get no good answers for follow-up. We had been given almost nothing for paperwork, and really did not even know the vendor (Island Wings) we had supposedly booked with. We gave up and booked flight with another vendor close to the same area, and had a very nice flight. The next time we had any contact with Island Wings was when I called them upon being billed for the flight that we had been unable to take. We were told that they had come to the pickup area, waited for us to show, and were therefore authorized to bill us. The net of all of this is that I have had a $458 learing experience, and am very disappointed in Island Wings not beleiving my side of the events that day!!

From the first phone call to schedule before we left Houston until they returned us to the dock and The Summit, our adventure was greater than they promised. Professional, competent, safety conscious, friendly, clean, prompt --- you name it and Island Wings got it right. Michelle is an incredible pilot that goes out of her way to make your journey the best ever. Always putting your safety first, Michelle pays attention to her passengers and goes the extra mile to accommodate each individual. Island Wings sets a high standard for the other companies to try and achieve. Misty Fjords is a gift. Island Wings put just the right wrapping on the package.

What a trip, Michelle as our pilot with over 20 years of flying. She made everything so relaxing and easy. Great guide and pilot. Beautiful scenary no matter where Michelle took us, took tons of photos and several video clips. When you stop in Ketchikan on your cruise, be sure to book a flight with her company: Island Wings Air Service. The cost is very, very respectable and they pick you up right on the pier. What's really the best is her plane, it is impeccably clean inside and out and for me that really speaks for itself all the way. I highly recommend the company by 1000%.....Michael

Michelle has 20+ years as a bush pilot. She knows her stuff! Some companies, we found out, employ college students who don't fly year round like she does. We felt confident with her experience. We e-mailed her before the trip and she took personal interest in the fact that one of us suffers from an inner ear disorder and we were concerned about flying. She answered quickly and offered suggestions for a pleasant trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the flight! At one point she asked how we liked flying near sheer granite at 120 mph...the answer was, "Just fine!" You've got to experience this!
