It was raining at the beach ,so we left the gulf for a day in Mobile. I will absolutely tell everyone that is coming to Gulf Shores to take a day to see the Richards Museum and experience the southern hospitality these ladies have to offer. They were not only knowledgeable about the Museum but about the entire history of Mobile and suggested other attractions and places to eat and things to just see. What fun we had when the guides shared the stories about the "spirits " and how they love the house and visitors that come. Not scary at all ! The stories were the highlight for my children that are usually bored when we go to places like this. Don't miss this museum if you go to Mobile!
Fabulous furnishings; knowledgeable guides; Southern hospitality at its finest. We have been in many historic house museums in Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, and the Carolinas. The Richards House was absolutely our overall BEST experience. Don't miss it!!!
The Richards-DAR house is not only elegant, but a beautiful, confortable atmosphere for weddings. I have had 2 weddings (my own and my daughter's) there recently. The cost was incredibly reasonable and had room for over 150 guests. Everytime I go there, it feels like home to me. The staff is fun and accomodating. All the caterers are very familiar with the house and the outside grounds are wonderful. I highly recommend for out of town guests and events.
