Beautiful, but not Senior Player Friendly
The course is scenic and well maintained, however the yardage from the white and red tees are more than the average Senior Player can realistically play and enjoy. We brought a group of 10 couples to play today with a starting time of 8:10. When we arrived we were told that our group would have to be "Off the Course" at 1:00 because of an outing that had been scheduled. We were aware of this because one of the staff members called us to ask if we could start at 8:10, rather than at 8:30 which we had previously booked. The staff members (Pro & Assistant Pro?) were less than professional in their handling of our group! Rather than personally instruct our group to the first tee, one of them made an announcement over the loudspeaker, reminding us to be "Off the Course" by 1:00 and that the first tee was "at the far end of the parking lot"! When our first group arrived at No. 1 tee, they found a foursome of "local" players there who stated that their tee time was 8:10 and proceeded to play!? Our group did it's best to finish in the requested time and with the exception of our last foursome we did so. They finished at 1:15 and probably would have finished sooner if our first foursome hadn't had one of their golf cars "die" on the 18th hole which caused a delay for the following foursomes. Also, one of the golf cars in our second foursome didn't have enough power left to make it up the 18th hole. One of the players got out of the golf car and walked to the parking lot while the second car Pushed it to the parking lot!! The staff was made aware of this and didn't so much as offer a Thank You! The professional staff might want to take a lesson on "Customer Service" from their Snack Bar personnel. Rest assured that we will share our experience at Gunter's Landing, if asked, with any of our numerous golfing friends here at Fairfield Glade, Tn.
