weekend trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/08
I enjoyed my camping trip to Guntersville State Park. We have a pop-up and had a great view of the lake. We enjoyed renting a boat along with swimming at the beach. Great place for family and friends.

Getting to many permanent campers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/07
We have been camping at the state park for years and love it. The rules say that you can only stay 2 weeks but is seems that a lot of people are able to leave there campers there all year. Some have add on decks to the trailers and nasty lots with stacked up fire wood. Well i guess the rules do not apply to everyone.

Lovely place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/05/05
My husband and I used to go to the hotel to have dinner at the restaurant very often. We loved the food and the service was great. We can hardly wait until they reopen the restaurant and sure hope it's going to be as good as the old one. The hotel in the middle of the Park makes it a delightful place to go with your family.

Can't say enough about it - GREAT
By JohnT, 11/04/05
We stayed in Guntersville for almost two weeks, with the first week spent at the state park. The park has a great golf course, wonderful hiking and a beach on the lake. They also rent boats and canoes. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

Guntersville Camping Getaway
By Cindy, 09/26/05
Guntersville State Park campground is a wonderful place for a family vacation. There are a variety of things to do such as hiking, swimming, biking and fishing. If you prefer to just relax under the trees, then you are at the right place. During the day(or night) it is a nice place to take a stroll and enjoy the atmosphere of a beautiful natural park. The glow of lights from the campers and aroma of barbeque of just the smell of campfires create an ambience you cannot get anywhere else. Campers are usually always friendly folks and most always willing to lend a hand when help may be needed. My kids always meet new friends and spend countless hours of fun with them. The times my family and I have spend at Guntersville are priceless moments and forever memories. We will continue to create those memories as long as Guntersville State Park is around.

State Park is Excellent
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/04
Both the chalets and the cabins are very nice & very LARGE! You can easily fit two families in each chalet. Large bedrooms and massive living room. Has very nice wrap-around porch and (depending on the time of year) nice view of Lake Guntersville itself. Rooms are clean and staff is very courteous. if you find chalets/cabins too pricey, they have hotel-like rooms close to the lodge itself for cheaper. I have been there 4 or 5 times and enjoy it very much. Good family enviroment. Chalets are spaced far enough from each other that noise from other people shouldn't bother you. Plenty to do nearby, including Huntsville, Buck's Pocket (another little park with a nice view from about 300 feet up), Little River Canyon (about 1 1/2 hrs away), covered bridges, etc etc etc. Give this place a try!
