Wind Creek State Park, Alexander City

We came here last year about 4 times in 2011 and in 2011 we found islands out in the middle of the Lake , that is the most fun, since little ones can go out a long distance in sand and with or without jackets, you can park your boats, ski tube from island, swim, and even cook out on the island, we like this a lot.. It rained us out in 2011 many times. We hate the sea wall side if you have a boat, but if your camping you should stay on that side it is really nice.. 2012 just camped again a lot of fun and going back Memorial day.. This is not the best park but it is a nice campground, Tugaloo is Georgia Lake Hartwell has the best circles and areas , Lake Chatuge too ..NC but this is right up there , nice sites ,many to choose from....

i have been going to this park for years.so has my dad and grandfather ,aunts, cousins, you name it .but on this trip we took my cousin aj with us who is 15 yrs old and acts a little goofy but is not a bad kid he regularly attends church with us and stays out trouble but one of the security officers in the park chose to harasse him every chance that came. every time he saw him he had to stop and be a smart alec to him when he hadnt been doing anything wrong. before we left , we let the younger kids go swimming at the beach and while me aj and my son were waiting for my wife to change clothes the officer stopped to address a parking issue with cadilac (who never did move to an actual parking spot) and saw aj sitting in the back seat of my van and deciced he wanted to come over and provide his final two cents which was that he saw him drinking a bud light the night before which is a load of crap because he his a diabetic and he was with me until he, his uncle and his grandmother went fishing from 11pm till 3am i told him he saw no such thing then he argued with me about it. if this is what i can expect from the people they have working there i probably wont go back , ruining a family tradition. by the way the officer last name is spivey

Definately the best in state parks!! Great for swimming, boating and camping. Very family friendly!! Park is clean, well kept restrooms, and the staff and security officers are friendly and do an excellant job. We had a severe thunderstorm while vacationing, and the staff and security officers were very quick with the weather warnings, and made sure that the campers were well informed, and as safe as possible. We vacation here every summer, and come for weekends as often as possible. I would highly recommend this park to anyone who enjoys camping and outdoor activities.

It was our frist time visiting the park. It was wonderful! The views and atmosphere was very relaxing. We cannot wait to go back

I have back and forth to Wind Creek for years it is just lovely there. I love the sunsets and the water is soo pretty. It is a great place to take your family and campout a few days or just go on a day you are bored and go to there man maid beach area and swim or go boating. You will love it. It has nice bathrooms and showers and places for you to grill out it rocks. Tesa

my family and friends have been making yearly trip to wind creek for several years now.we usaully spend from one to two weeks there in june of each year.all of our family and friends who can work out vacation time get together and have a fun filled relaxing time there. some rent the cabins 'some bring their rvs. we bring boats 'jet skis.kayaks and just come for fun

This state park has lakeside spots with wide open views of awe inspiring sunrises or spectacular sunsets. Spots are faily close together unless you happen to be there during the off-season. Their pontoon boats are great for renting and powerful enough to make it to Goat Island on one tank. The staff is friendly and outgoing for conversation which is why we are repeat visitors to this park.

i love lake martin because it was a great atmosphere and very relaxing place to hang out with a couple of friends and just take some time off work and some time out of your day
