Icon for bad customer service.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/06/08
Icon for bad customer service. We went twice there and we were treated so bad that we decided never to visit that place again. Now we rather go somewhere else. My son is a student (business major) and I encouraged him to use James Arthur Vineyards as a example of a bad customer service every time he has to write a paper with that topic. First time when we went there, we ordered two same baskets with bread, sausage and cheese. We got one basket with the sausage, cheese and bread and second basket with just a bread. We told them that we order two same baskets. The waitress did not apologize. She took the basket and returned it with the bread and sausage. We had to tell her that she forgot the cheese. She rolled her eyes and went back to the kitchen to bring us our cheese. She did not apologize again. Second time when we went, the place was packed and we did not have a table. The waitress told us that we can go upstairs and sit. I told her that we have 2 children and asked if it is OK to sit upstairs due to a sign stating that children are not allowed to sit upstairs. She said that we do not need to worry about it. Few minutes later, the owner came and yelled at us and asked if we read the sign saying "no children allowed upstairs". We were so embarrassed, we decided to leave immediately. Now, I hear they hire students to pick grapes and promise $3 per bucket. After the job is done, kids get paid $2.50 per bucket. That is sad. Not to mention that they yelled at my son. We collect wine and would be proud to buy it from local Vineyards, but James Arthur is not the place that deserves it. So, we order our wine from New York and pay shipping and handling fees.

Delicious Wine and Beautiful Setting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/07
I went to college in Lincoln and didn't hear about this place until about 3 years ago. When I come back to visit old friends once a year we always make a Sunday visit to JAV. I can't get enough of the wine and the people there are so nice. Definitely worth going to.

Amazing Place, Wonderful Service!
By Redaunt, 11/18/05
My Husband and I were married at James Arthur Vineyards in 2003, and not only was our wedding unforgettable, but the service of our guests was amazing! We found the vineyard almost by accident and after experiencing the ambience, hospitality and gorgeous flavors of the wines (really, the wines are incredible! Who would have thought it possible in Nebraska?), we decided that this was a special place. Even now, when we return for our anniversary, Barb and her staff remember us and greet us with the season's best varietals and a welcome smile. A "must-go" if you're in Nebraska!!!
