Star City Shores, Lincoln

Trying to get a hold of the office as I have a question and am getting a recording that it is Wednesday, June, 24th and they are closing the pool at 5:00 due to the weather. Today is Friday, July 31st.

The only time I've been here is when they did a special event for pets on 8/17/08. It looked like a fun place for people too though. My dog had a lot of fun too! I wish they had pet swims more often. The fee to get in went towards parks & rec and GLOC, I believe.

I loved going to the pool and swimming last summer. Star City Shores had crystal clear water and a great staff on hand. It was especially fun for my children who had a blast riding the slides all day. The lifeguards were extremely professional and polite.

Star City Shores is great for the little ones. It does tend to be quite crowded in the afternoons. If you are looking to avoid the crowds, then come in the evening hours between 5 and 8 pm. If you come later, it is much easier to keep track of little children and there is more room to lay out and enjoy yourself. I agree that the lifeguards do tend to mess around a bit, but so do the lifeguards at every other pool. Overall, Star City Shores is a great pool, especially in the evening when it isn't so crowded.

This is a nice pool area. It is very family friendly appealing primarily to kids under 13. The slides are fun but not overly advanced. A 16 year old adventure seeker would probably be bored here.

Star City shores is a very fun park with reasonable prices. They do tend to be very crowded, and when I was younger my mother lost track of me there. The two slides do have long lines, but they move very fast, and although the larger slide (to the left) seems more fun, the shorter one is. It's much faster, and has a very short line most of the time. Star City Shores isn't only for little kids, I went there up until age 17, the life guards do need to pay more attention, but that give the kids' parents an excuse to go swimming! I liked the slides. I didn't like how the lifeguards were messing around and not doing their job. The concession stand is very reasonable. The food was great and the concession staff were very welcoming.
