Blank Park Zoo, Des Moines

We had a fun family outting at the Blank Park Zoo! We will return again and again!

i didnt like the fact that it do not have the animals that make the kids go wow!!. The kids just look at the animals and say im ready to go home thats dont a zoo. and come on BLANK PARK ZOO. your not lieing its really BLANK

I liked the idea I could do the zoo in around 2 hours... It's more like a park than most... and I was closer to the animals than in most zoos.. Good job.

was not impressed at all! when we went there was loud construction going on...and there were no animals! i could count the number of animals that we saw on my hands. and it was expensive for what little we saw. i will travel to madison next time we want to go to a zoo.

we took the kids down a few years ago and they absolutely loved it. now with our daughter old enough, we're goin back so she can enjoy it. the kids loved the camel ride the best.

Its Discovery Kiosk gives such a variety of animals. All the smaller things really make it great. How close the wallabies got close to you was great and baby emus ran right in front of me. The park atmosphere is superior to larger zoos!

I loved this zoo, hands down. It's smaller size made it seem more intimate and very easy to navigate. No having to walk a small marathon so it's perfect for smaller kids and the elderly. I've been to a few other zoos of similer size and they didn't even come close to the variety of animals the Blank Park Zoo has and certainly didn't have such a nice setting. The animals were easy to observe and the wallabies got right up next to you! Food was okay, nothing great so make a real day out of it and bring a picnic lunch. They seem to hold lots of events there, the Brew Nights sound fun. Most of all you can not beat the price. Very affordable day trip.

Last May we took a preschool class to the zoo for the end of year trip, it was a success! The kids loved it, it is just the right size. We are bringing our 2 year old there this summer!

I like the clean "park-like" atmosphere and the closeness to the animals.. Much better than walking forever and then not seeing any animals. Food was good and not too expensive as in most places.

I thought that the blank park zoo was a waste of money. I think the zoo should have a much larger area and variety of big animals. Where is the the elephants,rhinos,hippos,bears etc. get the picture. Where is the zoo?
