Iowa State Capitol, Des Moines

I live in Des Moines, and even though i see it every day on my way to work, I am still taken aback at how, there were no power tools, when this thing was built, no cranes, no nothing. there wasn't even scaffolding! If you are there, and you don't see it, you will miss out on a super super amazing thing, and the best part.........ITS FREE! The Paintings 'Westward' and the Doll Collection are simply amazing. oh, and for the record, the dome never collapsed in. It was build like that in the 1860's!!!!!There is no words for the way this thing is. with breathtaking views of Downtown, you simply cannot miss this. You wont deny, that Des Moines is one of the Most Beautiful Cities in the World!!!!!!!!! As Mr. T m might say......' I pity the fool who don't see this there Capitol building!!!!'

If you come to Des Moines, you have to see the capitol!! It has REAL gold on the tops!! A breathtaking site. No matter what state I see, if I am anywhere close to the capitol, I stop and take a picture in front of it for memories... Have Fun!

I cannot believe such an obscure state like IOWA has the most beautiful capitol in the US. Everything about it is so magnificent, and to top it off, the people are so amazingly genuine.

The top of the capital is coated with gold. It really stands out and is beautiful. I hear after the last time the roof caved it, they totally replaced the dome with the gold cover. It looks great.
